I hate people who cheat on their partners, I've said why before. But is being separated for 17 months and having sex with other people technically cheating?

You're not cheating.
But why take the pee out of others? There's horses for courses, as they say & people have their own reasons for doing what they do. So until you know the reasons - it's hard to judge . Well IMHO.
And no I'm not a cheater. |

Seperated does not mean divorced to me means cheating but saying that as long as folk are upfront with anyone they may potentially then informed decisions can be made. |

I'm separated too (8 months now) and yes, I'm technically still married but I think the term "cheater" implies that there's something there to cheat on (apart from a piece of paper)...

I've not seen my ex for about 7 years, there's more chance of hell freezing over then us getting back together. I signed the final papers yesterday and should have my decree nisi by Easter!! FINALLY!!! |

You don't have to wait two years. I was divorced and all money matters sorted within less than six months. Who says there is a two year restriction ? |

From the day my husband and I split up to the divorce was finalised was 9 months but we didn't start divorce proceedings for the first two months.
Jay has been split up 9 years and hasn't even started as it works out cheaper this way

You don't have to wait two years. I was divorced and all money matters sorted within less than six months. Who says there is a two year restriction ?"

wow I didn't think the 'cheating' threads could possibly cover any more angles than they already have!!
can't see how anyone who is separated from their partner can be classed as cheating by another.
with that reasoning no one would ever be able to have a relationship unless they were divorced.  |

Divorce is a horrible thing to go through. I was married for 24 years and though it was for life. But alas he was a serial shagger and although I did think turn a blind eye, think of the kids, think of the very comfortable life style I had.....nah, you only get one shot at life and I sure as he'll wasn't going to spend it with a serial shagger. So decided I was off....was so hard at first (shed two stone though without the help of slimming world, that was the only good thing. Then hey woke up one morning and thought this is bliss....no arguing, know wondering where he was etc. best thing I ever did.
So keep yer chin up it will get better I promise you. X |

I think I gave the wrong impression, I apologise. I'm not getting divorced but that would be simpler sort of. Id be freer to do as I please. But we make our bed. has not a bad guy or a cheater it's just boring and i can't leave |
