I don't know what on earth has possessed me but I currently have a banana and walnut loaf in the oven! It is one of my favourite things to make.
I love making curries from scratch too, mostly baltis and masalas.
I was wondering what everyone else's specialities are?

"Funnily enough, banana and walnut bread.
Also, pasta and meatballs. Mmmmm....."
Do you mix up mince with your own blend of herbs and spices?
I love doing meatballs with chilli, ginger and soy sauce! |

Yeah, and make my own tomato sauce from scratch. I don't make my own pasta though. If dried is good enough for Italians, its good enough for me. |

You should try making your own pasta-it's good fun! But I agree dried is just as tasty especially with a good sauce. |

I make Spicy meatballs, you can use the mix to make great burgers for BBQ too.
I use chillies, red and green dried peppers, garlic, onion, breadcrumbs, pepper and salt
If I'm making meatballs I also add parmesan cheese, oregano and basil and use pork and beef, just beef for burgers.
If I can be arsed I make my own sauce, if not dolmio extra spicy. |

Yum! I want to make one of their pastry dishes with lamb, rice and cinnamon. I had one on a roof terrace in marrakech and it was tasty!

My favourite is fresh pasta with olives, cherry tomatoes and pesto sauce.
Although I'm veggie have been told several times I do a cracking roast, I do good roast potatoes and Yorkshire puds from scratch.
Also stir fries n curries with own sauces, home made soup (a b scots thing keeps you warm)
But another fave is beans on toast a la me: warburtons white sliced bread, marmite and decent beans with a wee dot sweet pickle on each half. |

My favourite dish to cook is steak in homemade creamy/mustard sauce with hassleback potatoes but the thing I probably cook best is broth really thick and filling as I use split peas and red lentiks as a base.

Mine is also curry. I make 7 litres of base gravy which I freeze in individual portions. This is then adapted into virtually any curry fairly quickly.
I think I have nearly every spice known to man |
