So I am sitting in my home office last night, doing some paperwork! I have facebook on my laptop in the background!
Up pops a message from my 13 year old daughter saying: “hello mummy”, I reply “hello lol!! X” she replies “ no mum, just no, your not cool enuf to say lol! Its just plain weird coming from you”
How to make me feel old in one sentence!!!!

I have that the other way round.
Since she was about 40 my mum has frequently told me she's too old to do things. Turquoise eyeliner at my age? Oh no, I don't think I can get away with that. Blue nail varnish? No, not at my age.
I challenge her on it every time.
You can wear whatever nail varnish you like, at any age.
Silly woman. |

"Our daughter tells us we are too old for something all the time, you can't buy them trainers Dad your told old there only for cool people "
Your child has a great understanding of how adults should dress, you should be very proud of her. |

Maybe but I only wanted some blazers, which have been about since I was a teen, but apparently now I'm not allowed them, it's not as though I was buying them jeans that hang down around my arse lol |
