I've got James Martin on as I wait for my client to call and he has just said that every Brit spends an average of £110 per month on takeaways.
I might get to £15-20 a month.
What's you average? |

Most months it's nothing at all. At the moment it's nothing because I'm on a low carb diet.
I used to have the occasional pizza but I like Domino's stuffed crusts so it used to end up costing £25. That fed me for 2 (sometimes 3) days, but it's expensive for food that is incredibly unhealthy. I switched to keeping a couple of supermarket pizzas in the freezer and found because they were there if I wanted them, I ate even fewer. I also didn't have the temptation to add sides and ice cream. And if I bought them when they were on special offer, they cost no more than £2.50 each. I had one every 2-3 months.
Prior to the start of the diet I had sausage and chips perhaps once every month or two, which was about £4.
I like Chinese and indian but won't order it just for me. I ate far more takeaway when I was in a relationship.
I do occasionally eat McDonald's and KFC, (though not at the moment, obviously), but I aim to stop that completely because it's an expensive way to potentially harm one's health.
So, prior to the diet, less than £5 a month plus maybe £10 a month on KFC etc. Now, nothing.
I'm spending a lot on decent quality protein though! |

Probably £20 a month, if I order food in I make sure i get the most value for money and get things that will last a couple of days or go in the freezer (pizza to reheat, curry and naan for the freezer for next time I have a takeaway craving). |

For all the Brits that don't eat much takeaway, there are some that live on it, literally. And they frequently eat double or triple what most people would eat in a sitting.
They will be pushing the average up. |

I can see how you can get there by having a (biggish) treat just once a week.
He's doing fish and chips now so I fancy that. It looks fantastic. I missed all the other bits - bloody work.

Give quorn a go and consider quinoa - looks and eats like a carb but is high protein. |

Is Quorn the mushroom protein stuff? If so the mushroom connection put me off. Fungus *shudder* |

It doesn't taste like mushrooms or have a similar texture (I don't like them either).
Just make sure you have.some kind of sauce or gravy with it cos it's all protein and no fat and could be bland. Got cassoulet for tea made with veggies, haricot beans and tomato gravy and quorn sausages bubbling away in the slow cooker. Low carb, very low fat and can eat a huge bowl with a clear conscience. |

Nandos chicken seems to have shrunk but it is easily possibly to spend a lot there, for not very much.
Quinoa, mentioned above, is fantastic. Saturday Kitchen made a Quinoa veggie burger a couple of weeks ago. I can't do Quorn as it falls into my fungus fear zone.

Is your picture show that your panties are too big or is there something in there you needed to check?

Never been a big one for takeaway, so much more fun making It and if I want crap food mc donnnalds don't deliver. Other than that it's got to be the odd ruby and maybe fish and chips once in a blue moon so I'd say £30 pm max |

Cheeky answer. £3.60 for haddock and chips? It's double that here.

"Pretty much zero, - but if a good Indian or Thai opened here in the backarse of beyond, that would most certainly change. Mmmmmmmmm!! "
You need to visit BlondeCaz. She has a takeaway in Arse End. You'll still be remote but there is a Chinese.

Give quorn a go, you'll be surprised. I don't eat anything remotely mushroomy but am eating a lot of quorn. Try the 'meat'balls. |
