Cheeky sick day

I was meant to go in work yesterday but was to hungover so I thought I should take today off and maybe tomoz or is that just over doing it ??

I really don't think its wise to air your i am not sick but having a sicky on a public forum...do what you like...pulling sickies when you are not sick is one of my biggest bug bears....

They have completely drafted a new sickness policy as too many people were taking sick days when they had run out of A/L or just could be arsed and got caught it impacts the whole company and those who use sickness for its purpose when they are sick...

You should go to work. Sorry but I'm genuinely off sick today waiting to go to dr later and will take tomorrow off too. I am hardly ever off sick. hope you don't get caught out

One day you might really be sick and have to take time off. I've never taken a 'duvet day' off and when I was diagnosed with a medical condition three years ago, had to take quite a few days off and still felt guilty!!

Same here- am off sick at the mo, but genuinely, and only had 3 days off sick in four years - hate being ill

Are they aware that they have extra workload for the next day or so because you are not going in because you are hangover? Or have you used a different reason?

Of course the boys know I was with some of them only the boss who pays me thinks I have been up being sick and pooing doesn't know.

I don't think I will let him know am going to the gym now

You're entitled to 30 minutes free legal advice too, maybe give a solicitor a call and find the best excuse

Throwing sickies just shows a total lack of respect to your colleagues, your employer and your customers.

And working in a smal ream makes it worse. Your taking the piss out of your colleagues if you expect them to cover for 3 days when they know you are just hungover.

I can recommend somewhere warm and dry ,my nephew just told me where he lives it hasn't rained for 79 days and has been around 30c most days

I started helping out as my mum was the cleaner and I went in with her I helped with unloading and tidying in the summer holiday of that's ok with you, you should never assume until you know that FACTS people

If you can afford it a good virgin olive oil if not try Lidl's basic cooking oil.

No we work 70 hours plus, save lives, work on Xmas day looking after people and not being with our own..... 14 hour days without breaks etc so yeah we are lazy mancs and extremely proud to be one!!!!

I'm on mobile today. I'm babysitting,doing washing,cleaning,cooking lunch etc. I can think of much better things I'd rather be doing but not with children around

Just a quick update people just had a very nice phone call off my boss asking if I was ok and not to rush back which I replied I will be in tomoz. Then like a great chap he is he asked do I still want to go to his villa in Ibiza which he always pays for the flights. Me over valued I don't think so one happy chap here

"Just a quick update people just had a very nice phone call off my boss asking if I was ok and not to rush back which I replied I will be in tomoz. Then like a great chap he is he asked do I still want to go to his villa in Ibiza which he always pays for the flights. Me over valued I don't think so one happy chap here

No we work 70 hours plus, save lives, work on Xmas day looking after people and not being with our own..... 14 hour days without breaks etc so yeah we are lazy mancs and extremely proud to be one!!!!

If you worked for me and I found out I'd sack you on the spot like I did an idiot a few weeks ago. A friend of mine rang me and said he was in the audience of a live snooker tournament, I put the TV in and there he was looking well and engrossed in the match.

His wife had rang that morning to say he had been in bed all weekend with flu and was still too I'll to get up.

I rang him that night to say he could go and watch the rest of the tournament as he no longer had a job!

I can't believe some of the replies here slating the OP, especially so by some the people who spend the majority of every day on here instead of having a job!

If you ever really need those days you might be sorry for wasting them now. Where I used to work I was entitled to 15 days a year and they were carried forward if not used, which was lucky were I contracted Glandular Fever and needed 2 months off work. I had to go back before I was properly well when the sick leave ran out as I couldn't afford to have time off without pay, but I was really grateful I had accumulated all those days off.

Poor you chick it's not a problem for me I was off 11 weeks when I got stabbed a few years back I got full pay all the time I was off then only went back 3days a week for the first month

Entitled to 15 days doesn't mean you can take them all because you want to. I haven't read the thread but I am sure there are others who will say the same. It's because of this sort of attitude that employers clamp down on sickness absence and then when you really need it you may find it's just not there.

I reluctantly introduced disciplinary procedures on sickness absence after experiencing this sort of work ethic.

My ex had that attitude. Said he was entitled to X amount of sick days so he'd take them.

We have procedures at work to sort out those abusing the system. Seems to work ok thankfully.
