I'd agree with that. It will depend on your weight and metabolism.

It depends over what sort of time scale it's consumed and if on an empty stomach or not, as well as metabolism etc.

A rough guide is that it is metabolised at 1 unit per hour. But, of course, the first pint will be being metabolised already as the second pint is d*unk.

I err on the side of caution. My license is important to me, as is not killing or maiming anyone else.

Something like an hour for every unit however no one should get behind the wheel of a car wondering if indeed they are still over the legal limit in my opinion...,,

That's anyone other than myself, I mean. I'm not saying I've already killed or maimed anyone!

also depends if you eat things with artificial sweeteners in as the liver deals with that before it deals with the alcohol

I was once told that it's an hour for every unit of alcohol plus an hour for every drink you have.

1 pint of lager @ 2 units = 2 hrs plus 1 hour for the pint......hope you can understand this lol

Believe it or not a woman's body takes longer to process alcohol than a man.

1 unit = 3.5% half pint

2 hours for first unit and then 1 hour per unit after for a woman

Seem to remember 35 mG of alcohol per 100 of blood, think it is 1.5 pints of 3.5% lager

If that all makes sense

This. You can make an informed guess but it is far from an exact science

"Believe it or not a woman's body takes longer to process alcohol than a man."

This varies with age, interestingly.

An enzyme called alcohol dehydrogenase is the chemical that breaks down alcohol that we consume. It's found in our stomachs and livers.

In a paper entitled "Gastric Alcohol Dehydrogenase Activity in Man: Influence of Gender, Age, Alcohol Consumption and Smoking in a Caucasian Population", which was published by Alexandr Parlesak, Michael Hans-Ulrich Billinger, Christiane Bode and Johann Christian Bode the following conclusion was drawn:

The results indicate that ADH (Alcohol Dehydrogenase) activity in human gastric mucosa is negatively associated with consumption of larger quantities of alcohol. The question of whether ADH activity is higher in males or females can only be answered with respect to age. The gastric ADH activity in young men is distinctly higher compared to young women, but the opposite holds true in middle-aged subjects.

Correction... A group of enzymes called alcohol dehydrogenases are the chemicals that break down alcohol that we consume. They are found in our stomachs and livers.

It's getting late and I am not concentrating.

I was also told the about of water that a male body and female body is different and that is why RDI is different for gender, but I will go poke around on the Internet now

I'm pretty sure body fat percentage is a factor too, though don't quote me.

As BMI would be too, plus general alcohol in take would be

Admit it.

You've had a drink or two!

No, (I wish!), I've not had any alcohol since Xtasia. And even then it was only 2 bottles of Smirnoff Ice.

I'm on a low carb diet, so alcohol is banned.

Yep. There are a lot of factors involved, certainly.

So we all agreed the safe alcohol limit for driving is zero.

If you have a good session on Saturday you could top up a couple Sunday lunch and be over limit on Monday morning
