I just typed 'jobs in Wallasey' into google.

First site I clicked on comes up with over 11,000 ads within 15 miles.

Surely they can't all be 'fake jobs' or unsuitable?

And as for not guaranteeing NMW - the breakdown of salaries was:

£20,000+ (4385)

£40,000+ (1454)

£60,000+ (527)

£80,000+ (305)

£100,000+ (194)

I know a few that earn a decent wage from selling avon....the reason why because they work their arse off to achieve it...it's also handy for fitting hours in around families etc.

I've done avon before and it didn't work.....I was living in a better area then....people didn't like doorstep sellers.....my avon lady is always looking for people.....if it was a guaranteed amount at the end id do it again as its perfect for me (hours wise) finding a job that fits in with my family is proving near impossible

Yes I am aware that there are jobs....

Vast majority are agency jobs ......you register on their books...get nothing .....(I have tried)

Dozens of kleenezee type things.....

The real jobs which I apply for take one look at gaps in cv and my limited available and chuck the application into the bin.

I am trying to start my own business and on various courses to learn things like taxes, self employment etc.....all takes time ......heads battered....I've always worked except for last 3 years and when I was at home with my older children and their dad was at work.....I'm not workshy.....I love working...its a break from kids.....

No idea!

But it took me 30 seconds to find that out.

As for trying to 'lecture', 'make the OP out a liar' or 'having too much time on my hands'? None of the above.

There's often people posting about a lack of jobs and no luck looking - so I was merely suggesting using the internet to search.

As for 'don't I think she's done those searches for herself'? How would I know?

Simply suggesting that there are in fact jobs out there to be had, paying above NMW and offering part time opportunities.

Nothing more.

75% of Jobcentre jobs are from agencies. Apply for them and you go on their books and get emailed jobs that aren't suitable. It's not a case of everyone can take any job. I would be laughed at if I applied for a £100,000 + job. It's what politicians earn

I wasn't looking at the jobcentre.

And no - I'm not an advisor. However I've worked in the voluntary sector offering support, advice, cv writing assistance, inter_iew techniques etc a fair bit over the last 10 years.

There are jobs out there - I'd go so far as to say there are jobs out there for all. Dependant of course on the willingness to be flexible, reasonable and not turn down opportunities because it's not someone's dream/ideal job.

a lot of jobs are no longer available when you click on them to apply. 3 out of 5 I looked at one day. Reception jobs asking for A levels. Agencies advertising a position and when you open it it's a training course you have to pay for. It can be disheartening but you have to keep ploughing through and keep positive. There is a lot of help available and volunteering or work experience can be useful. I had a placement from a training course and got a full time position from it

most training is very basic. Good if you're starting from scratch but not even at Level 1 for anything academic. You don't qualify for anything else until you're unemployed for 6 months. Then they do intense job searches and offer other services like work placements. If you can do nights and physical work you have more chance of finding a retail job. Age makes a difference too

I rarely check what qualifications people have when I employ them. It's normally on attitude and experience. You can put any qualifications on a cv as 99% of employers won't check them.

I'm looking for jobs as well just now.

There's a few starting to bite, but two are during the commonwealth games and i need one now

One of the ones for the commonwealth games and another one are zero hours contracts, which I don't think should be allowed.

Ring your local council and try getting on the register for kitchen nannies or playground assistants or local homes often need events coordinators. Also try on the likes of Indeed Jobs as they advertise most jobs. Most of all done give up and the best of luck xxx

When my daughter came home from working abroad last winter she was unemployed, she printed of shed loads of cv's and spent the day going into shops and hotels asking for the manager or who was in charge and personally handing her cv to them, she was well groomed and well mannered and got loads of inter_iews as a result, I think she gave a good 1st impression, she ended up with half a dozen job offers.

Perhaps this is something OP could do?

There are shops ect in Wallasey and Birkenhead is only a short train/bus away and Liverpool city centre is only a short train journey.

Good luck x

"How many flipping avon, kleenezee, betterware jobs on the jobcentre website......

Are there any actual real jobs?

I've tried all 3 as a income top up when I was working part time.....its bollocks....they can't guarantee the N.M.W

fuming

And jobless

"

I have never had much faith in job centres. Every job I have ever secured has come from different sources.

Glasgow

Just wandering around central Glasgow a few hours ago , I couldn't but notice the proliferation of "smart boy wanted" signs appearing in shop windows.

OK retail isn't for everyone and some were part-time with no mention of hourly rate - but there are jobs beginning to appear.
