I had a bit of an accident today and needed a dentist big time.
My dentist could fit me in 2 weeks this friday so not a lot of use really.
Finally found 1 that will see me in the morning but i have to travel all the way to Barnsley.
What kinda country do we live in i ask myself

I find for dentist private insurance is not expensive and really does pay off at times like that. |

Good dentists are worth their weight in gold, in my humble opinion.
Have fairly recently found a very good one close by, and he has been absolutely fantastic... especially when emergency treatment was required.
I really can't rate this guy highly enough. After having had pretty bad dentists for the past 20 years, I'm so glad to have found one who is painless - honest, even the injections can't be felt he's that good - and is also professional beyond reproach and an absolute perfectionist.
Needless to say, he doesn't take on NHS patients, but I'm not really paying that much more going privately than I was paying to see an NHS dentist in any case.
For anyone local to Swindon who's looking for a good dentist, feel free to send me a PM and I'll pass on his details. |

It's a shame you live so far away from me, Steve, otherwise I'd put you in touch with my dentist... the guy is a genius and manages to put everyone at ease.
I've had some dentists who were nothing short of real evil bitches though. I must have really upset the previous one as she gave me some fillings which apparently weren't really necessary. |

Would also suggest to ask around - word of mouth (pardon the pun) will point you in the right direction
Avoiding the dentist causes long term problems, making fears and phobias worse. |

I was very relieved to finally get an emergency filling last Wednesday after a weekend of taking Neurofen or Paracaetemol every 4 hrs. They only give you and emergency appointment at the weekend if your absolutely desperate. They said I could manage on the painkillers til I could see my own dentist in the week. |

Try Penny Meadow in Ashton Under Lyne. They are very good and have been taking on new NHS patients recently. |
