as they are Russian themselves i am sure they knew the risks and the equipment the Kosaks would use if they chose to demonstrate at the games.
We may find it disgusting but its the way that they enforce the law over there. No one got a kicking...some where whipped a couple of times and at one point in the video another guard stopped the one with the whip and pushed him away.
No one looked to be injured in the altercation |

they are a protest group....they'd probably be pissed off if there wasnt trouble when they did their thing.
I'm guessing they didnt think this would be like playing at the brits with all cheering and awards given out |

well, when you live in an oppressive regime as Russians do, then you must expect to get bitch slapped for stepping out of line.
iirc some members of them have only just been released from prison as it is, for speaking out against Putin.
they will get the fekkin book thrown at them now, no doubt |

no one was arrested. It wasnt the whole group but it was the 2 that have just been released from prison for protesting against Putin.
Interestingly a number of group members have signed an open letter demanding that the 2 members that were jailed should no longer be described as members of pussy riot. seems they have become too political for them lol |

They know that's the reaction they where going to get it was completely provoked. They know their own culture and the police use whips regardless of man or women.
It was very clearly a massive publicity stunt. Yet everyone seems to be branding them as victims. |

I think they should be prosecuted for crimes against music!
However as far as their protests are concerned they have to know the consequences of their actions will be severe in the extreme. And knowing that they continue to protest, that takes a very special type of courage and I admire them for that. |

Protests require publicity to be heard but to label it a publicity stunt is a bit naive, if you read a bit more about the points these girls are trying to get across and the consequences opening their mouths has had on their lives you might have a little more respect for them. As someone has already said, they're very courageous girls. |

When did I say I never had respect for them? I just don't think it was a protest if it was it wasn't a very good one. But it's certainly got them noticed all over the world.
This is just am example i have no opinions on this so don't slate me.
If you were going to protest against the ban on fox hunting you wouldn't go and do some fox hunting and get someone to film it. It is an instant arrest.
If your trying to protest you get your message across in other ways which can gain support and isn't illegal.
What these girls need to do if they got a message to spread is tour over Europe spread there music in country's they can and get support. They don't seem to be interested in that. |
