I am sure we have all had them moments.... so what are yours...
I was once in a school football team (the rest of the 1st team were not allowed to play, trouble on a school trip) i went from playing in centre to playing upfront... got beat 23-1!!!
played in a baseball game where we got beat 34-2
and an ice hockey game.. 10-0....
so what are your tales of woes and misery.... |

played league pool and only won 1 match all season, when the other guy potted the black early lol
played sunday league footy and in 3 years we never won, until i changed to manager, then we won our first game, but then i got the bullet cuz it was run by a family (was like the fekkin mafia)
played american football a few seasons ago and got very few minutes, although i thought i did well when i played, i dont think i ever was on a winning team, or at least didnt contribute as only got on when we were already miles ahead lol |

When I first started playing hockey, we was a shit dirt comprehensive, no equipment apart from hockey sticks. We used to play schools whose goalies wore full protective kit, whilst our goalie (read me) wore shin guards!!
My first season I lost 2 teeth, broke my finger, and was bruised permanently for 3 months!! Oh and we lost a lot of games!! Still went back next season though. |

Yep, I used to race motorbikes and had a pretty good success rate until I came up against a norweigen rider, left me for dead and out rode me in every aspect, he was all over me like a rash, obviously being British I blamed the bike |

Always fancied myself as a scheming midfielder in my footballing youth.
I remember our wedding night, told her I was man of the watch last week, set up a couple of goals and saved a couple at our end. Told her how I was going to be promoted to captain next season.
Don't think she was impressed though.
Then she asked me "Ever felt a cunt?", "Yeah" I replied "I missed a penalty once" |

Picture it, May 7th 1997. the country is busy voting Tony Blair into power. I am in a boxing club sparring with this lad even lighter than me. Generally when I sparred it was with my mate who was 5 stone heavier and full of muscle and I'd make him look daft as he couldn't land one on me. This night I got chucked in with a sprog even lighter than my 9 stone at the time. I couldn't touch him. He ducked, dived, hit me from places I didn't even know he'd moved to, dematerialised and came back with a frying pan to hit me, tagged Kendo Nagasaki who came in and bounced off my head. I may be making some of this up, but I do know I'd have given a weeks' wages to just thump him a good one. I got sent home from work the next day as I was still punch d*unk. |

A group of us thought we were the bees knees at 5 a side...unbeaten all year....all around the 25 years old mark.....someone organised a game with the spurs under 16's at the ball courts in white hart lane......13-0.....
I'd say that was a damn good thrashing.....and a lesson learned... |

Can't name the person, but my centre half partner for a few years was a well know celeb. As a bit of a diva he didn't take losing too well and also didn't take constructive criticism well. After conceding a 9th goal I suggested he might want to try marking the lad he was supposed to who had scored 5! He decided to take the kick off at that point, received the ball and promptly thumped it as hard as he could at me. Miraculously I controlled it first time and played it forward to see my partner storming off the pitch! We subsequently scored to make it a more respectable 9-1 but the best bit was I was driving him home, fortunately we laugh about it now. |

Used to play semi pro football. Made my first team debut against a striker who now plays for Nottingham Forest, I couldn't get close enough to kick him let alone tackle him. He scored 4 that day! |

Most recently in a half marathon before Christmas. Ran the first 3/4 in one hour 27. The last quarter in 45 minutes... Or to put it another way the last 5km took almost as long as my 10km PB. Talk about the big bang! |

whilst doing some canoe training on a sports afternoon we were at a place called Hohenlimburg (spelling could be iffy)its an International standard slalom controlled by a sluice gate..
we were paddling about at a moderate level of about 3 maybe 4 and a group of fit young German girls appeared and stood watching us, one of them asked if we minded if they upped the level..?
yeh course, np etc full of male 'this'll be fun watching the frauleins try and keep up'..
in they came and tbh they did look a bit good, the flow increased and we all capsized pretty quickly much to their amusement..
turned out they were the German ladies national b team..
packed up red faced and offed it to the pub, suitably humbled.. |
