Is offering adult services on a pro basis, (i.e. definitely no penetrative sex etc), any different to prostitution in your opinion? If so, how?
Is either a reason to look down on anyone?
What's with the stigma attached to adult work? |

Is this research into setting up an escort agency? Let me know the hourly rate. |

Ha, no it's not. I think that market is fairly flooded already. |

Charging for sex is legal. Solicitation and running a brothel are illegal. |

"Would rather work in the pound shop"
So you don't see any distinction?
Why the stigma? Selling merchandise, selling adult services, selling knowledge, where's the difference?
Genuine question. |

"No different at all, just less in it for the guy paying if penetration isn't on offer.
Depends what the service is and whether he wants sex, no?"
Agree but it doesn't change the prostitution part, just reduces potential clientele! |

Hmm, I don't think there is a difference between offering adult services for money and prostitution...e.g. a happy ending in a massage parlour because you are still selling your sexual favours or earning your living from sex in some way (I know that opens up a whole new can of worms).
The stigma comes from the belief that sex is sacred, essentially wrong unless its exclusive to two people in some sort of marriage and all the other moral and social ideas twisted up with a bodily function.
There is no reason to look down on anyone who works in the sex industry unless they are forcing other people to take part in it unwillingly..pimps, traffickers etc. There are loads of people who give these services for free and people look down on them too...its a funny old game this sex stuff. |

The stigma is bound up in so much that has gone before though, hundreds of years of the church and society telling us that sex with anyone but your legal partner is wrong. I don't see much wrong in working in the pound shop or selling sex |

If the person involved wishes to offer specific things that do not include penetrative sex then that's up to them.
Besides, a lot of men (usually men, sometimes women), get sex at home but have desires they don't feel they can ask for or their wives don't want to do.
As an example... adult babies. It's a sexual adult service but involves no sex. A lot of men are into it but wouldn't ask for it at home. Is providing a professional adult baby service prostitution? |

Probably cheaper with a prostitute!
Yes, there is stigma attached but there shouldn't be. Not to the actual prostitutes - they normally have reasons for doing it. It's the pimps, drug dealers etc that are part of that world that are the problem |

I don't personally as i dont use sex to my gain but I've heard where partners know how to get their own way by the means of sex...Its sad that a relationship turns out like that... |

I have often thought that a good business could be set up offering services such as humiliation etc. I know that such services already exist but I'm sure there's room for more. I don't think it's prostitution in the strict sense of the word but it's still earning money from somebody elses sexual needs and where does that begin and end? |

I have no issues with it at all as long as the person is up front about it and uses the appropriate websites.
it comes in many guises within the swinging world and that spoils the scene. |

Indeed. That's partly to what my question refers. My example of a professional mummy to adult babies is similar. |

Yes. How about glamour models, is that ok because they are once removed from the public?
Personally I don't think any of us who go about our sexual business freely and consensually are any better or worse than the next person, it's when coercion and force come into it that I object. |

It happens loads. Both ways. All of it.
OP- I don't see anything wrong with any form of prostitution if it's consensual. Nothing wrong with it at all. |

From what I understand, many dommes offer services in dungeons, humiliation, torture etc
But do not have penetrative sex with the client. There is a fine line to be drawn
What is the difference between a stripper and a lap dancer, once there is physical contact it all changes |

We have kids in their twenties, they often tell us about particular friends who have sex in night club toilets with random strangers on a regular basis. Is there a difference between those people and people who accept payment?
We've discussed this with them and challenged their _iews on these friends asking how it makes them any different as a person etc. hopefully making them think before condemning anyone solely on the basis of their sexual behaviour. |

personally i have no problem with someone using the sex industry to earn a living. its the reasons behind why that often cause me to shake my head.
if its a free choice by a right minded individual, then all power to them, however if they are coerced or forced into it by unscrupulous individuals, then no, its not right, and never will be |

Each to their own, but I think the best things in life are free and only ever pay for sex and companionship emotionally - and boy do I pay sometimes.
If someone is being paid to be intimate with me then they don't want me.
Would you pay someone to be your friend?
That's how I look at it, I'm probably on my own though. |

Plenty of men (and some women) don't need to be wanted just to get their itch scratched.
That was clear from the thread by the guy looking for BBWs.
Apparently if you want to be wanted by people you have sex with then you are looking for a relationship. |

I don't have an issue with prostitution and I think brothels should be legalised and regulated, it should be treated as a proper job with pension, holiday, employee rights etc ...
We're all selling our bodies in some way or another, either our strength, our minds or a mix of both.

Not always. When you have been hurt and can't face a relationships and putting your heart in someone elses hands you are still a human who wants to feel a connection.
I'm probably in the minority but I would like to feel desired for myself rather than for my wallet - which is usually empty incidentally, so it's just as well. lol |

"Turn this on it's head for a moment. Who here would put out for reasons other than pleasure?"
I couldn't have full sex with someone unless I found them attractive which would narrow it down a bit but I could do humiliation and domination for pay I think. |

The only issue I would have is if sex workers were charging disproportionate rates for such services. |

I think as the law stands there doesn't have to be penetrative sex to class an act as prostitution its money exchanged for sexual oriented services. |

Really? I have rarely been bought anything when in a relationship as I have paid half of everything. It's only recently that I have even begun to accept being bought drinks or being paid into a club (where I have paid out on the petrol etc.). This has only come about because it was pointed out that I am insulting the gift giver and that I wouldn't like a gift thrown back in my face.
Back to the OP, I don't see any real difference at all. I must admit to thinking the title referred to social services though. |

I didn't want to be more specific because I wanted to see what people thought of as adult services, so I could ask about other services like professional adult baby mummys.
Some interesting responses so far. |

Re the OP's question, i dont think there is much difference, weather paying for full sex, no sex , oral, an arse whipping or having ya adult nappy changed.. Business is business ... ( Consenting adults etc) The sex business will always be in demand. I wouldn't judge others and feel if there was no demand none of it would/ need be available . |
