With all due respect do you not think a visit to the doctor is more fitting than the views of strangers?

I never mess about with medical matters, that's why we have doctors.

Hi, I had the implanon fitted last yr due to having irregular periods never knowing when and for how long, heavy a lot of times, im limited to contraceptive due to a liver problem i had with the combined pill. So i got it fitted, great no periods for about 2 months, then kept bleeding all the time for about 2 - 3 weeks!!! nightmare!, hubby was heading for a divorce due to my mood swings and never happy!!!! so needless to say i got it removed, left with a bloody scar too!!!!

I went to doc last week and got the injection which you get every 12 weeks, too early for giving advice on it but seems ok so far, so hopefully fingers crossed will have hardly any periods!!!!!

I would suggest going to the doc though just to get it checked out to be on safe side!

Lorraine xx

Have heard of this happening with some people, and believe it may just be one of those things that happens while you're on them, after all it's not natural to completely stop your periods anyway... but as said, don't just listen to us, get checked out.

Surely if you told them you think you should be seen urgently they could fit you in?

failing your gp, you could always go to your nearest sexual health clinic

It is their speciality and I'm sure they would call your gp if they were concerned

Lol, yes I realised. Did they suggest that on the phone? You never know, but there's always other options

The law says if you ring for a gp appointment, they have to see you within 48 hours. Unless of course you wish to see a particular doctor, then you will have to wait for him to have a free appointment.

However I reckon I would have been down there to anyone by now.

It makes my blood boil when you need to see a doctor and some little hitler on the phone says you have to wait several weeks. I realise doctors are busy but for goodness sake, do we always have to rant and jump up and down to get seen?

....... and breathe ....... sorry I feel better now, hope the OP is ok xxx
