It never fails to surprise me how impolite shop assistants can be at times, but on the positive side it never fails to surprise me how people can come together during tragedy and hardship and work together.

What about you?

That some people don't read what's been written on a thread or engage their brain before commenting.

And that some people will post things they don't necessarily believe just to cause trouble.

Why should the conversation be about how many pints of spunk you can fit in each orifice, the pros and cons of different lubricants and which batteries work best in which sex toys.

Wake up smell the coffee people in starbucks don't spend every minute discussing which bean makes the best drink and the same in pubs as to which ale is the least calorific. I do understand some people lack the art of conversation and social interaction but really???

Dogs aren't dangerous, rappers are.

Hmm, no, that's not right.

Dogs aren't dangerous, people are.

For any breed, most won't be dangerous unless made that way. Any dog, regardless of breed, has the potential to be dangerous if not socialised, handled and trained properly.

Guns, knives, tyre irons, baseball bats, biros, tea spoons, dogs... all fun/useful if handled and used correctly but potentially dangerous if not. It's people that make them dangerous.

Hmmm... I am no longer surprised people continue to buy dangerous biros/tea spoons/baseball bats even though they are an accident waiting to happen.

Dogs are dangerous they derive from the wolf its basic nature to attack and kill prey they all defend if provoked and many will attack without much reason be it jealousy or a need to defend even if its not there. People are dangerous too probably at the same level as dogs or maybe not. Some dogs are placid until riled, the local vicar is that way but he would defend his family I have no doubt.

Just how nasty total strangers can become when people decline to have sex with them.

And how entitled to sex some people feel when on "a sex site".

It's like common sense and everything they know about interacting with people go right out of the window. Then they get angry when unsuccessful.

Like I said, all dogs have the potential to be dangerous. Certain breeds need more training and the right handling but there is no such thing as a dangerous breed.

My response, which you apparently haven't read properly or perhaps haven't understood is to the comment about people buying dangerous breeds of dog.

Demonise the people who cause the problem, not the dog.

A "breeds which need more training and more careful handling" list would be fine. A "dangerous dog breeds" list is basically bollocks.

"It never fails to surprise me how impolite shop assistants can be at times, but on the positive side it never fails to surprise me how people can come together during tragedy and hardship and work together.

What about you?

Really, that still suprises you? Very rarely will you find one who offers the respect that a shop owner would.

For me its people who still go out and obtain dogs on the dangerous list, you'd think they would learn from other people's tragedies

Nope I read Dogs aren't dangerous, people are." clear and simple on its own there to see that's what I disagreed with even guide dogs have bitten people in the past. To believe or say they are not is dangerous to promote there are far too many already who have left small children with dogs. I agree with the bit about man or for that matter woman kind being dangerous we have slaughtered millions of our own kind.

Oh dear. That line is a spoof version of a song lyric Hence the post following it actually putting my _iew point.

Trust you to pick out a single spoof line and ignore the actual post!

There are many fools, misguided souls and ignorant people who will read and for that matter post crap about animals and lets face it the people who say its not the animal or worse believe its not the animal are in cloud cuckoo land or on some strong smarties. When you know a family who has had a child attacked by what essentially came across as a placid friendly animal you point out this folly to others no matter what context its in as misinformation can be tragic! "

How can it be misinformation? Even if the tongue-in-cheek aspect of the first 3 lines is missed, the following post clearly says that ANY dog has the potential to be dangerous, regardless of breed and that some need more work to prevent them becoming a problem.

Surely that's a clearer and more accurate message than having a "dangerous dogs" list or suggesting that only certain breeds of dogs are dangerous?

No, all dogs have the potential to be dangerous, which is exactly what I said.

You're still focusing on the tongue-in-cheek line not the actual post.

I get that this is an emotive subject for you but we aren't really disagreeing.

The only difference is you say all dogs are dangerous. I contend that all dogs have the potential to be dangerous but are not necessarily dangerous and that the correct socialisation, training and handling at least minimises that risk.

I suppose it depends how you draw the distinction between dangerous and potentially dangerous. To me, say, C4 is potentially dangerous. It's stable and extremely safe in most circumstances but dangerous in certain conditions. That makes it potentially dangerous rather than actually dangerous.

On the basic level, however, we are agreeing that all dogs are capable of causing serious harm.

Actually, for once I do see his point and understand where he's coming from. I think he's misunderstood what I posted because he took the tongue-in-cheek bit literally, but I think he's making a legitimate argument this time.

Anyone who has experienced the fallout of a dog turning for, apparently, no reason, (meaning no reason we can see - the dog obviously had a reason), is likely to _iew this differently to others. I get that.

"Why people come on a sex site and chat about mundane things like this!!!!!!

Was trying to stay on the subject about dogs

Story was a dog/German Shepherd killed a 6 day old baby. Just because he was jealous of all the attention the baby was getting and the owners were shocked as the dog wasn't like that at all before the child was born. So my point was all dogs are lethal. Given the right animation and any dog can go wild, trained or not.

"Given the right circumstances". So *potentially* then.

Who determined that jealousy was the motive for the dog's behaviour? That was what my previous post meant. Is there an account anywhere with the actual facts in rather than the skewed accounts found in the media or the chinese whispers which spread via the Internet?

I've worked as a shop assistant and you would be surprised how much abuse we come across and for the littlest and stupidist things. When i worked for Tesco's, (about 8 years ago) during the christmas rush i got abuse from customers in the queues at other tills because I was believe it or not fast and efficient, so it was my fault they chose not to join my queue! Seriously had to bite my tongue with that one! I was doing my job correctly and copped for it!
