Many mainstream websites and uk dentists shout from the rooftops:
'don't go abroad and don't trust a strange person with your mouth whilst thousands of miles from home'
I have a family member who require a bone graft and a couple of implants. UK prices are all likely to be £6k+
Hungary and even Turkey are no getting popular for UK tourists. Hungary I believe is recognised as a country for dental excellence?
The same UK treatment will cost possibly £2k inc flights abroad using good implant brands such as Nobel.
Has anybody have anything good or bad to say about going abroad?
Can anybody recommend a good reputable place to go abroad.
If we opted for the UK, it is also a minefield. Can you provide two or three names of leading implant dentists in the UK?
Our local dentist will do it but inexperienced in the procedure. We'd rather use a specialist. |

"Use a specialist in this country, two that come to mind are Brighton and high Wycombe. Going abroad means no aftercare if there are complications. "
Which specialist do you recommend in High Wycombe and why?

Can you get insurance for return trips if something goes wrong? It would be a piece of mind addition if you got guarantees and insurance. After all some of the UK dentists have disasters too. |

Hi there I just come back from India have done a few while I was there and I can recommend a place there. The redone who runs it studied in the uk and now owns about 5 dental implants centres there. Have a look at their website it's called Dentzzdental

A guy I used to chat to at work had his teeth done in Hungary, cost next to nothing compared to here, he was well impressed with the results. His teeth were absolutely disgusting before.
Have seen him once a couple years later and asked him how his gnashers were getting on and he said he's had no problems at all x |

We know someone who has had huge amounts of dental work in Hungary, and has saved a fortune. You just have to do your homework. |

Someone I know through work went to Hungary for their dental work. They are really pleased with the work. The company has offices in London where you have the consultations. You then have the work done either here or in Hungary(cheaper), then have check ups over here when you get back. I'll try to remember to email them for the company name... |

Two people at work have used Smile savers, and a year or so later are still really happy with the work.
You go for x-rays and consultation in London and have the work done in Budapest. Then follow up consultation in London or Budapest. Hope this helps... |

I know a few people who have had consultations and prices for dental work in england, costs being over £5000, who have then gone to india to have the work done by the same dentist they seen here, total cost inc holiday and work, just over £2000! |

I was reading the other day how even high quality implants are often not good in the long term. There's evidence that teeth which have been rebuilt last longer and that jaw bones with implants are prone to quicker deterioration than in control groups. I wouldn't profess to be an expert, but I'd advise doing some research to see if fillings and crowns would be a better option |

when i investigated implants i was told they have to be redone every 10 years, whether that was right or not i dont know, but thats what the dentist told me
and there is no way i could afford the best part of £8k every 10 years, or want to go through the procedure. |
