Easy to make PULLED PORK .for the slow cooker..

Pulled pork is easy to make and you can eat in a rolls or in a baked potato, with rice loads of ways and freezes well. . 2 medium onions, thinly sliced
4 medium garlic cloves, thinly sliced
1 cup chicken stock
1 tablespoon dark brown sugar
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 tablespoon salt,
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 (4-1/2- to 5-pound) boneless or bone-in pork shoulder (also known as pork butt), twine or netting removed
2 cups barbecue sauce (optional)
Place the onions and garlic in an even layer in the slow cooker and pour in the stock . Combine the sugar, chili powder, measured salt, cumin, and cinnamon in a small bowl. Pat the pork dry with paper towels. Rub the spice mixture all over the pork and place the meat on top of the onions and garlic. Cover and cook until the pork is fork tender, about 6 to 8 hours on high or 8 to 10 hours on low.
Turn off the slow cooker and remove the pork to a cutting board. Set a fine-mesh strainer over a medium heatproof bowl. Pour the onion mixture from the slow cooker through the strainer and return the solids to the slow cooker. Set the strained liquid aside.
Using 2 forks, shred the meat into bite-sized pieces, discarding any large pieces of fat. Return the shredded meat to the slow cooker, add the barbecue sauce, if using, and mix to combine. If you’re not using barbecue sauce, use a spoon to skim and discard the fat from the surface of the strained cooking liquid, and then add 1/4 cup of the liquid at a time to the slow cooker until the pork is just moistened. Taste and season with salt as needed. Aga is good in the bottom oven .. But when your out at work all day this is nice to come home too if your into slow cooking . And its a cut of meat that don't cost loads and will feed 6/8 easy for a family get together .

"I need a slow cooker. This sounds lush! " It is why I am thinking you may like. xx As my family do .. And slow cookers don't cost a lot and handy if your out at work . |

I've never thought of cooking pulled pork in my slow cooker. It would work better with a smaller joint. I usually buy the biggest I can and cook overnight in a low oven.....I will have to try this!

My grandfather taught me how to hunt and my grandmother taught me how to cook. They were both born in rural Poland in the late 1800's, a slow cooker never really entered the cooking equation and I've managed pretty well without one... |

I tried this for the first time last week after someone recomended it, I bought it from Asda but once I realised I had to cook it and prep it myself I realised what a waste of money it was!
Since then ive done my own versions, I steamed some chicked breasts and did it with those but instead of bbq I used sweet chilli dipping sauce, ive got some left over beef joint that we will have tomorow too. |

My dry rub is:
1tsp of chilli powder
1tsp of English mustard powder
4tsp of sea salt
50g soft brown sugar
1tsp cumin
2tsp hot paprika
1tsp dry thyme
Rub the pork shoulder with HALF the dry rub. Put in the fridge for an hour then use the rest of the rub.
Put a cup of water in the baking tray with the meat, seal WELL with foil and cook in the oven at 130c for 5-6 hours depending on the size of the piece of meat. |

Its very weird but today had 3 more letters different people who made this ........ One said loved it so much and having fab friends over to dinner and now having this pork so it really is a fab meal . lol I may post more of my easy meals . |

Thanks again guys x " I make gammon in and also Ginger Ale and spices. yummmm. And all easy and can last 2/3 days easy, so can make a lot have hot and cold. |
