"They gave me Penicillin 250mg. I need to take two, four times a day. But, i can't handle it no more. It's too much.
 "
stick with it otherwise the infection can come back even worse.
I know it's not nice but maybe they are the lesser of 2 evils x |

What's all this anti and pro-biotics discussion. This is the first time i'm going through something like this. So, i don't even know what's happening.
...at least i got mango juice tonight. I haven't eaten since last monday and no chicken.

you need to take Probiotics to keep your level of healthy bacteria up as Antibiotics get rid of all bacteria, bad & good.

Anti-biotics kill off bacteria. We have good bacteria in our guts and other places and bad bacteria. The anti-biotics can't really discriminate between the good and the bad so zap everything.
Pro-biotics put bacteria back in your body. You need the good bacteria to help your guts keep you healthy.
It is REALLY important to finish the WHOLE COURSE of anti-biotics prescribed. These are not drugs you just stop half way through without consequences, not just for you but for the rest of us.

I do now I remember taking it in the states and asking for thrush treatment they gave me oral thrush treatment I spent an hour explaining i need it for me fanny lol |

And i don't think your wrong about all the bacteria coming out your system. Have you seen how long i have to sit and have a piss before i'm actually finished? I could finish a book by the time i'm done! It takes me ages. All the bacteria's buggering off through there.
So, stupid question time. What are these probiotics? Those actimel stuff?

That might be a problem. I haven't stepped outside the house for days. Got no energy to drive or walk long distances. I'd get up and i'd fall back down again.
....may have to get some young ones from the family to do me some chores.

Bacteria are highly evolved organisms. If one type of bacteria gets resistance to an antibiotic, for example because someone didnt finish the full course of treatment, which would have killed the whole lot of them, the remaining unkilled resistant ones can pass the drug resistance to completely different types of bacteria. Then you or others with an infection from the new resistant bacteria will have difficulty treating it. Massively clever method these bacteria have to pass around their acquired resistance to any bacteria they may come into contact with. We may be doomed soon, with antibiotics that cant kill anything. At least popeye is doing the right thing. Hope you feel better soon! |

four years ago I had been on a load of antibiotics and ended up with C DIFF I was in isolation for 8 days in hospital awful awful time |

Exactly what I have just been on - didnt help a all - my bugs are too hardcore for ya everyday meds, but I soldiered on.. with a limp, but soldiered all the same |

I'm all for the sympathy vote when you are ill but saying you can't manage 2 small penicillin tablets is coming across more pathetic than I think you'd want.
As for food keep it simple and light. Scrambled eggs, boiled chicken etc. Are you not eating because you throw up after or because you are choosing not to eat because you are unwell?
If it's tonsilitis that you have they actually recommend scratchy food go help clear awqay the infection. |

I am on them too 8 a day .... I don't think they smell I just wish to get better . If they don't work this time I am having to go to hospital as this is my 5th lot. My doc said the hospital hold antibiotics that they don't give to the local doctors and have to go on a drip .. will know more this week. I am told I may have kidney stone and they are looking into it as not sure. |

You do know that this is the first time i've been 'proper poorly'. I've never had it this bad. So, for me this is a big deal.
The antibiotics, i'm not going to stop taking. It's just the fact that i've had 56 already. And the smell has started to be really pungent and is making me sick. It doesn't mean i'm going to stop taking it - i'm still going to complete the course. The smell is just everywhere.
And two small penicillin tablets? Have you seen the size of my mouth? I'm tiny. I may just talk a lot but for those two pills to be swallowed at a time like this is rather difficult. There's no passageway for it to go through.
And i can't eat because i can't open my mouth and it bloody hurts to swallow!
....i don't like being ill. I rarely am. But, when i do fall ill - it bloody cripples me!

poppy i am on them where you getting this smell. I am now going to have to smell my tablets .. I am not eating well .. I drink chocolate slim fast as it gives me vitamins .Just feels its lining my tummy on the days i cant get a lot . Straw help if mouth sore to get drink down. |

I don't know. It might be that now i realised it smells and didn't realise before. I'm going to try and get some food down me today. I look so skinny.

you have a go at slim fast its a meal in a glass ....... you need your vitamins .Just find some foods don't have a lot in really .All i know i feel a lot better having 1 or 2 of them inside me . xx |

Last sachet of antibiotics for today and then i'm done. Cor blimey it's been a tough time and a long road.
...although, i'm suddenly feeling the need. And i mean proper!
