Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

He was the father I never had and always wanted as John Walton Senior.

I'll miss him on NCIS too.

When I heard the news this morning I just heard the "goodnight Daddy" from Erin and Elizabeth.

He played such a gentle "dad" character, as did Michael Landon in Little House on the Prairie - both now sadly gone.

Sad news but at 85 he had a good innings, all that mountain air must have done some good.

That was a very sad NCIS seeing him playing a befuddled father.

I remember seeing a film he directed in the 80s called On The Nickel, about alcoholic down-and-outs. Tom Waits did the soundtrack. Very good.
