I think she IS trading on her looks. She has an OK if ordinary voice which, if it didn't come with her looks and size, would never have attracted the critical acclaim it did. |

she is trading, and being marketed, on her voice, whether it be average or not.
lots seem to like it.
many have bought albums.
i doubt she has released many calendars or dvds about herself, because, as said, she ISNT trading on her looks, she is being traded as a singer |

Its really interesting, I have put threads up about SuBo before, all was taken in the tongue in cheek way it was meant, people take the piss out of others all the time, I hardly think the OP meant anything against her mental health issues, maybe he did, I dont know, but its ok to ridicule some on here and not others. I think the weather maybe taking its toll on peoples senses of humour.  |

I actually agree with you there - her voice is very ordinary in comparison to her contemporaries, such as Elaine Paige, Barbara Dickson - even Jane McDonald. Her manager has admitted "marketing" her appearance and condition. |
