I was walking threw Barnstaple Town centre today, and I always see this guy, he's homeless but he never complains, he is always stood in the same place near Costa Coffee,
I felt I needed to do something to prove to myself that there is some good people out their and show people that all it takes is someone to do one thing to brighten someone elses day.
I bought this guy a hot cup a tea and gave it to him, as I walked away I actually had to hold back the tears because I have never seen someone so greatful for something so small.
I could see in his face that he was so happy, and couldn't stop thanking me for it.. |

In a cold snap a friend of mine literally gave a guy the coat off his back, and went back the next day to buy someone else one from a local charity shop - brilliant idea if you ask me. |

I often buy hot drinks and food for homeless people around here. Will never give them money, but will always give practical help.
Recently took a load of old bedding to the night shelter.
Having been so close to their predicament myself, I always do it with a grace of god type of thought. |

I walk past a homeless guy everyday at lunchtime with his dog. I have on occasion given him a cuppa and his dog a chew. Everyday he smiles at me. I wouldn't give money though |

An independent coffee shop in the town does suspended coffees for the homeless. They actually allow the homeless to go into the shop to drink it.
Unlike Starbucks that also offer suspended coffee, but donate the profit to a homeless charity, they don't allow a homeless person to enter the premises and drink it.
I won't buy suspended coffee in Starbucks. |

What is suspended coffee?
If I see someone begging for food and I have the money (not always possible these days) I offer to take them into the supermarket with me to buy something for then and there and something for later.
I had one man refuse telling me he would spend the money as he pleases as it's his money. I felt awful rebutting with that it was mine until I handed it over.
I never give cash. Not all are alcoholics but I work closely with a charity that has campaign against extra strong lagers and giving cash. |

I think it's in Italy and I forget the name but they have a custom of buying two coffees and recieving one and these free cups accumulate so a homeless person or someone less fortunate can go in and get a coffee that has already been anonymously paid for. |

Suspended coffees are when u buy one extra and a homeless person can have that coffee. You can also buy sandwiches etc. Some places allow the homeless to eat and drink in the place others Will only do it take away |

I end up doing the same when in Manchester it doesn't cost a lot to give someone a hot drink. |
