Robocop re make :-)

The people who make movies seem to redo a lot of things from before or redo films that are not that old, Hollywood redid "heat" that was a film called "L A take down" and they remade "the girl with the dragon tattoo", have remade "Carrie" oh and robocop of course but what film do you think they should remake, if I had the choice I would like them to do "jaws"

They would have to start it the same way, not see the shark for like the first 30 or so mins but it was the music and the suspense that made that such a great film, I just recon with the effects now they could make that shark even more scary................what would you like to see remade ?

Nothing, they should stop milking old ideas and come up with some original stuff.

I'm personally not a massive fan of CGI and special effects. Sure, some add a little to the movie but they don't really do much for me.

Nooo leave Jaws as it is. I don't like the way Hollywood is churning out remakes of some of my favourite films of the 80s and 90s

Why remake a classic such as Total Recall or Robocop or even Heat? They should stop being lazy and be more invntive of new stories

and breath and rant over

ditto this, and why make a film like pacific rim, which only had the CGI as its pull factor.

Woo less hate lol, it was only a question, I agree they need to think of new ideas but I was only saying that the shark could be made to look a lot more life like, keep the film in the same style, full of suspense just make the bits where it comes out the water or is seen under the water more realistic, agree totally about total recall as well, should of left that alone

Thought that the shark looked quite realistic in Jaws.

They have had other shark movies using CGI, Deep Blue Sea being one of them but none have ever been a patch on Jaws. S we think certain movies should not get remade and should stay as one off classics

Not a fan of remakes. There seems to be a total absence of originality in the entertainment business these days.

Here's a quote from the remake of 21jump street that sums up Hollywood

Deputy Chief Hardy: "We're reviving a canceled undercover police program from the '80s and revamping it for modern times. You see the guys in charge of this stuff lack creativity and are completely out of ideas, so all they do now is recycle shit from the past and expect us all not to notice."

There are films that I feel should be left well alone but I can't deny enjoying the newer Poseidon more than the old one and being intrigued about Carrie...

Then again, personal preference could kick in here. I strongly detest the remakes of Evil Dead and Footloose and apparently Dirty Dancing is on the list to be remade, but there are people out there who will love them...

How dare you suggest Jaws!

One of the best films ever made.

A remake would just be full of CGI bullshit.

Only remakes that should be done are films that suck. Like Waterworld.

Or, here's an idea: Something original.

Jaws based on real places and events in West Oz I think would make a great remake with all the attacks in recent years.Replace Quint with the fisherman laying the drumlines add the politicians as shark bait and you will have some very happy viewers.

Ref Robocop - I hope they keep those great telly adverts. I'd but that for a dollar.

Bit appalled that they have re done Robocop. Classics should be left alone, and definitely not have their messages removed, such as social commentaries. That Tom cruise alien film was total pants compared to the original, there should be stiff prison sentences for this crime against art. Porn films can be re-done, if the original was so-so.

Rumour has it that The Dambusters is up for a remake. I cant see Gibson's dog keeping its original name

No doubt they'll be flying B-17's and saying 'y'all' a lot knowing Hollywoods take on the history of WWII!

If they even think about remaking Bladerunner or Airwolf then I will set fire to every cinema in the country....

Can we add the Back to the Future series to the list of untouchable movies.

And remake Clash of the Titans - my first comment after seeing it was 'it was worth what we paid' - the tickets were free from an Odeon employee.
