Each year the celebs get given crazy challenges to do in order to raise as much money as they can, but watching Davina struggle this year makes me feel like id rather donate the money for her to stop torturing herself. She wont give up in fear of letting others down, but i worried for her safety and thought 'is it worth killing yourself over'
Anyone else feel that they should perhaps make the challenges a tad bit easier and safer? Or do you enjoy the suffering/struggle they go through.
Ultimately the celeb agree's to it and has a full safety and medical team with them at all time. |

I just don't see the point.
Why should attention seeking celebrities ( don't tell me it was a selfless act ) have to half kill themselves to raise money for sport ?
Why don't people give anyway ?
Why not do something sensible like decorating a pensioners house or giving a young family a day off and have that sponsored?

"I have no idea what she's trying to do. I rarely watch that stuff.
I found David Walliams doing his channel swim very inspiring though."
Difference is Walliams is an accomplished swimmer. Davina clearly isn't. She struggled with a bike ride a few years ago too. That swim is nothing spectacular, pretty much anyone could do it with a bit of training
It's interesting that Davina being shit gets more coverage than SKY sports' Charlie Webster's 7 day 250 mile ultra marathon in aid of women's aid barely gets a mention. |

Maybe next year for a change of pace they should do Hand Relief where celebs are paid by the public for a five knuckle shuffle and all the proceeds go to charity. |

"put her out her misery.put a bolt through her head chop her up and feed her to the lions.
What?
I wouldn't go that far but she'd be no loss to society."
Very few people are ever a loss to society. Not sure why she deserves such bile directedcat her. |

I don't know what Davina's challenge is.
I found David Walliams's swim personally inspiring, not because it was a monumental feat but because it proved it could be done by, for want of a better word, average, regular people.
Sport Relief is supposed to inspire, I think, and that inspired me. |

It's probably her 'magnetic personality'. |

If inoffensive and inconsequential minor celebrities ever filled me with such angst I think I'd really start to take a long hard look at what was lacking in my life... |

I'd rather she wasn't in my media orbit but I don't wish any harm to her. What intrigues me is that as soon as someone mentions Russell Brand you get people with pitchforks calling him a junkie but that doesn't apply to other celebrities such as Davina.

She has been in The Priory for heroin addiction, she doesn't use anymore. I guess that answers my question though; people just don't know as much about other celebrities. |

Maybe that's because they chose to build their career on other things rather than celebrate their drug use like brand? |

To my knowledge Ms McCall has never phoned Andrew Sachs to tell him how she shagged his granddaughter. |

I would say more but I don't want to take this thread on a tangent. |

And that has to do with recovering from a drug addiction how? |

He does. A lot of his early comedy stuff was about when he was taking drugs and the crazy things he did. Caveating it with a veiled don't do drugs message doesn't hide the fact that he used his substance abuse to become famous. |

Sure he used his life experiences in material (as many entertainers do) but I'm not sure he built his career from it.
Like I said anyway, didn't mean to hijack. |

Calm it down people. Physical endurance and putting onself through a bit of hardship every now and again inspires me. I'm no fan of her but hats off to her for giving it a go.
I'm biased of course because i've been to the brink a couple of times, parachuting, mountains, boats etc.
