A man was running away from a Tiger in the jungle when he came to a cliff. Fortunately there was a vine to climb down. As he escaped he saw another Tiger waiting for him at the bottom of the vine. Then looking up he saw a mouse chewing through the vine. Looking to the side if him he saw a plant full of delicious strawberries. Accepting his fate, he reached out and are them, and they where the best strawberries he'd ever tasted.
The Tiger at the top of the vine is your past, the Tiger at the bottom is your future. The mouse is your limited time in this life. The strawberries represent living for now, enjoy the ride your on forget your worries about the past and the future.

Knowing the tiger is there and you cannot go back is accepting your past

Running from one's past never works though.
Accepting and living with one's past is not the same as trying to go back.
There's no need to try and clamber down a dangerous vine, hurtling towards your future, to escape your past.
I agree that living for now is the best approach though.
Still, it's too early for philosophical debate and I've had no sleep. |

That analogy made me smile but then also set me thinking about myself.
As much as I try to live my life for the moment if I know there is impending doom or bad news in the future I'm personally more likely to make plans on how to deal with it and strategize.
In this scenario I'd be more likely to be planning a way of surviving the Tiger at the bottom of the cliff.
The crazy thing about me is that I'd believe in the moment that there was a way out.
Ever the optimist, I know, but I believe there are very few situations in life where you can't find a 'win'. |
