Morning all,

I know there are some great bakers within the forums and need a little advise.

Work are doing a charity event on Saturday involving a bun sale/raffle etc, I have therefore been asked to make 48-60 buns, the theme being valentines/teddy bears picnic

I can make the buns no problem, however a bit stuck on ideas for decoration

Also I have to take the buns into work Friday but working all week so when would be the best day to bake/Ice them?

Kim x

"Make them Wednesday and ice them Thursday you could make the buns into heart shapes "

I was looking at the cases but they only come in packs of 6, so would take forever, might roll some icing, colour it red and cut love hearts out to put in the icing top x

Titz Towers, North Notts

Heart shapes, cocks, teddy bears. You can probably buy some edible decorations to put on the icing and save a lot of time.

The Town by The Cross

Go to ASDA.

Buy 10 packs of ready iced fairy cakes.

Buy 1 pkt sugary balls or 1 pack cherry lips.

Put deccie on cake.

Bob's your fuggin uncle.

Easier than that is get someone else to do it for you ..

Makes me laugh this charity stuff.

If everyone gave the cake money instead of arsing about you could all just have the free time to chill ...

60 fairy cakes isn't industrial to be fair. It's about what gets done for a kids party with left overs.

It's still easier and cheaper to buy.

I'd do an American Muffin mix cos they are Cheap, Large and easy ..... oops sounds like FAB MEMBERS cakes....

Sheffield

White glace ice the top (use lemon or orange juice to mix the icing, adds a nice tang and reduces lumps) then cut out a heart shape from a piece of paper and use as a stencil for red sprinkles.

Glace icing will need around 12 hours to dry. Make sure you don't make it too runny or it will need longer, thick enough to spread with a knife is best.

Oh and shallow boxes so you have them packed all in one layer.

Take an empty box, say that it contains the latest thing in zero calorie virtual buns, and ask people to buy as many as they want for 5p each. Win win situation.

Please recycle the box responsibly
