I've started playing guitar again after a 5 year hiatus without a guitar or amp in the house. Currently I'm playing a Ibanez Artcore AF75 TDG (a Gretch White Falcon copy) Semi through a Fender T with just a vintage FuzzFace pedal and after 26 years of playing I have finally found my set up

So Fab guitarists what are your set ups

I could be here a while with this one..

Guitars: mostly old Strats &Tele's but I frequently play a Kramer Beretta and Gibson MIII.

Amps: Diezel VH4, Peavey 5150, Marshall JCM 800(2203), Line6 Spider 3 175w ( for practice and live clean tones), Marshall 100/100 EL34 power amp, H&H power amp and a Fractal Axe FX Ultra pre amp/ amp simulator/ multi effects.

Effects: The Fractal Axe FX Ultra, Eventide H3000 Harmoniser, Morley Bad Horsie Wah, Boss Chorus, Boss Delay, MXR Phase90 EVH,MXR EVH flanger, Ibanez TS-9 Tube Screamer, Boss reverb, Marshall Guv'nor.

Strings: Ernie Ball Hybrid Slinky's

Picks: Dunlop Nylon .88

I also use a THD Hotplate attenuator, so I can turn the amps up but keep the volume down.

"No point in following mr who..."

I've not even listed the guitars I'm building, the Les Paul's and several others. Not to mention the acoustics and amps that are under construction too. I've been playing since I was 6 and never really get rid of stuff.

I have a dining room with some stuff in, there are also guitars hanging from the walls on the stairs and several drawers full of parts. I won't mention that part of my wardrobe is dedicated to car parts too...

Easy for me, acoustics - 6 and 12 strings - and resonators.

I'd still really like a Dobro. Acoustic slide sounds so good on them..

A Fender Strat, a couple of electro-acoustics, a shitty Epiphone Les Paul, a lovely Godin LG Hmb that I rarely play as it's got bevelled fretboard edges and I'm so fumble-fingered, my fingers slide off the fretboard, a Uke and a really really crappy acoustic bass that I bought just to tat around on!

Amplification, less than nowt, just a Kustom Arrow DFX 16 that I play a Line6 Mobile through, via my iPad.

My current build is a 3 piece swamp ash body Strat with a 22-fret neck (rosewood fingerboard), Gibson 3-way switch, Bournes EVH low friction volume pot, kill switch and PRS Tremonti-USA pickups. The guitar will be painted matte black with a tiger stripe pickguard. I'm still deciding whether to fit the titanium Floyd Rose bridge or a Wilkinson.

How are those Blackstar amps? I've heard they sound great but can be temperamental.

I find volume and distortion to be perfectly valid substitutes for ability!

My Baretta is an '85 although I have had to change the bridge and pickup ( it now sports a Ping Floyd and a Duncan Pearly Gates). I wouldn't touch the modern Kramer's made by Gibson, they're not a patch on the originals.

"What colour is your anorak?"

Who knows? One thing's for sure, my guitar lust has brought me more filthy encounters than this place or any club will ever bring me, regular cheques (the largest of which I bought a brand new Jag with. Nice!), and an appreciation for the finest agricultural practices of South America. Yep, I should have shifted the gear when I cut my hair and grew up, but hey, I'm a real sad bastard.

Now, before we discuss anoraks, let's compare our "units shifted" figures...

Ha, so you're not Robin George then 'cos he had way more BC Rich's! Can't think of any more Robin's who may have shifted a unit or two from this neck if the woods!
