Scared of the dark???
Jump to: Newest in thread
I'm not scared of the dark but it makes me feel claustrophobic if there is no light at all. And if I partially wake up and the room is in complete darkness I have waking nightmares, which are horrific. |

Speaking of burglars. They like to strike in these conditions. So we are less likely to take note of any banging or breaking etc. Always fantasise about catching a burglar and beating living daylights out of them. |

I am not afraid of the dark in my own home... Unless i've glimpsed a horror movie ( its the music that scares me) then i get a little apprehensive
I do feel a little jumpy if venturing into the back garden if in total darkness. .

"I'm absolutely terrified of the dark I sleep with the lights on unless I sleep with someone.....how about you lot??? "
I can't walk up the stairs at night with the light off , feel that if someone was going to get me it would be then. Even though I know nobody is in the house to get me just my brain takes over and thinks that I'm going to get chased up the stairs. Stupid I know. |

Im not sacred of the dark, though did wake up once with a burglar in my room, similar to others. I was unsettled for a while but I totally prefer very dark for sleep and hate hotels with poor curtains or thin, badly fitting blinds etc - there should be an anti-torture law against it. If I have a problem, I aim to tackle it at source, rather than adapt around it. Worst case, a few mins of hypnosis and all is good. Light affects the brain, so I dont see it as healthy to have it 24 hours a day. |

"I like the dark - and where there are no streetlights you will find it is rarely ever actually dark at night..."
There are no street lights here and you couldn't see your hand in front of your face on a moonless night. I've had to walk down the road some nights and feel for the edge of the road with my hand so that I don't fall in the ditch. |

I always slept with the light on untill I started living with ju. It then took me a couple of years to sleep with the light off. When she visits her parents the light goes back on. |

I'm scared of the dark and have been for as long as I can remember
I'm fine if someone is with me....if I'm on my own then I sleep with the bedside light on.
Being in a room with the door closed freaks me out too.

Me too if I'm alone...and I have to tuck the duvet in at the bottom to stop the monsters from getting me feet first while I sleep...the Monkey laughs at me but the fact that we wake up every morning still with our feet attached proves to me categorically that it works! |
