I think if there are any life forms out there they would have sense to stay as far as possible

My feeling is that we (Cardin based life forms) are evolving at about the same rate and so have not mastered long space travel yet..therefore no meets as yet...

That or civilisations destroy themselves long before that happens...eg us fucking the planet...
