Just been asked to make a Friend a Meal as she made me one last Week, problem is I can't Cook and she has asked that I make it myself and not buy something in !
Any nice and easy Recipes that a beginner could make that would look impressive ? I know I'm always mucking about but I do need some help here |

Cube some potatoes, coat in a little olive oil and put in the oven a 180 until tender, give them an occasional shake to get them evenly brown
Season salmon steaks, I use Lemon pepper, clear a space in the tray and add the salom fillets, baby tomatoes and shallots, bake for approx 20 extra
Is delicious and simple
little washing up and you can prepare the poatoes in advance so you only need to leave her for 20 mins |

oops sorry for the misunderstanding
And for wine you could serve either a nice crisp white with the fish or a light red |

this is an easy dessert you have to prep but theres no cooking
creme fraiche
meringue bases
raspberry
or strawberrys
break the meringues and mix with the creme fresh and fruit and serve - drizzle with a fav fruit sauce
its called eton mess for obvious reasons
mix all when ready to serve as the meringues melt quickly in the mix and you want to taste the crunch
good luck! |

You can always jazz up a steak with a nice sauce. I like to crush some peppercorns, mix them with a tub of creme fraiche place in a frying pan and add a good slug of baileys and mix together, can also be done with brandy and tastes fab. You could serve the steak with the diced potatoes instead of chips as outlined above in an earlier suggestion. |

Salad leaves tossed in good olive oil with a bit of salt and pepper.
Boil some new potatoes, add a bit of butter and some chopped chives.
Make a dressing of olive oil, lemon juice and chopped parley. Add a little bit of garlic to make it extra tasty - it will be ok if you both eat it!
Grill a piece of salmon while you plate up: salad, new potatoes, then the salmon and drizzle some dressing onto the salmon before serving.
For dessert, fresh raspberries, meringue and whipped cream, as in Eton's Mess!
Simples! Good luck and have fun! |
