I get no spam in Gmail at all. "
Ditto. Never had a problem and I've been using Gmail since it was in testing. |

I use hotmail or outlook as its called now, if i want to use an alias its simple to set up & anyone who emails that addy sends a message to my main outlook account without having to give them my normal one. |

"AOL, been using them for years with no drama, the same with gmail"
My first ever dial up connection was with AOL! If someone asked me to email them on an aol account I'd assume they still used ask Jeeves and the like. |

I did hear they were scanning mail, never read much though, probably using it to target adds like they do if you search for something, if you open a ad heavy website 90% of the ads will be similar to something you've been googling. My local papers site is murder for it. |

"oh that's a shame. I had a yahoo account for years with no problems but now it's dreadful for adverts.
I signed up to gmail today, so i will see...."
I've never seen an ad in yahoo because I sign in on Firefox and have an adblocker on. |
