Off for an eighties week-end on Friday. Have plenty of colourful outfits to wear, but was thinking of theming the drinks too. Can remember drinking Taboo and lemonade and 20:20. Can any one else remember what they drank in that delightful decade?? |

"Of course, a bottle of Concorde - was it ever really classed as wine??? God, what percentage was it? seemed very strong at the time!"

Vodka and Russian ... a pale pink mixer that tasted of ... errm ... dunno but unlike anything else
I remember me and my friend sneaking half a bottle of vodka into the Mecca, Portsmouth, buying the Russian mixer from the bar then 'lacing' it under our table. Oh those were the days! |

Thanks for that! I think we must have laced ours with too much vodka ... nothing tasted of anything by the end of the night! |

MD "Mad Dog" 20/20
Night-train
Thunderbird
TNT Cider (which came in a bottle with a ring-pull top that looked like a stick of TNT)
Skol White Top
Carlsberg Elephant Beer
Plus some stuff which I thought was called "Strawberry Hill", but perhaps not....I'm surprised I remembered that little lot above. My liver itches just thinking about those days.

Yeah, 'skol, skol, skol, skol...' was a catchy one. However did they think that one up? Marketing Geniuses!!
Have done booze run, but sadly lacking in retro drinks. Did get Taboo, Blue Bols, vodka, peach schnapps and a huge bottle of Lambrini (closest I could find to Lambrusco). The Concorde was only 7% - can you believe it? Actually I spent most of the 80's under-age, so a whiff would have probably had me under the table! Thanks for every one's contributions.
Have a fab week-end folks! I think I might!
I feel a 'well apparently...' moment coming on already...xx |
