So I just got off the phone with an adult film recruitment company - I replied to a random Craigslist ad a couple of months back out of curiosity as being in a film is something I've always wanted to try.
Anyway, after chatting for a bit it inevitably came to her asking for £250 for marketing costs to host my details with them. This obviously got alarm bells ringing!
2 reasons I thought scam:
1) Thier website, whilst professional looking, contains no links or mentions to the production companies they work with. Just why keen performers should sign up.
2) As a recruitment agency, which is effectively what they are, should they not be getting their fees from the production company and not the talent?
Obviously I said I'd think and let it at that, but I thought I'd shout out to see people's thoughts, and also to highlight a potential scam others may get embroiled in. What you reckon? |

Can't believe you feel you need advice! If you are that desperate to dispose of £250, then send it to me. I'm always broke, and you will get the same for your money..........nothing! |

Adult film recruitment company?
I'm pretty sure the film companies themselves will get plenty of 'cv's' from prospective startlets so I would definitely call scam! |

Don't worry, I more than figured it was so such, and have intention of handing them a penny. Was just curious to see if others had had similar dealings.
I know a sales pitch when I hear one. |

I am sad to say I was caught out with this scam, stupid I know took me for £600. They promised me that I was ideal candidate, sent photos of myself etc. They even had the noise of busy phone calls in the background. I was so stupid just wanted to make some money for Christmas n pay off my bills etc. They said I needed a licence for European work n I fell for it hook line n sinker. Yep I was a complete fool, learnt a hard lesson. |
