If you had a pick of 4 members of any band who would they be?
Consisting of:
Lead singer
Lead guitar
Bass guitar
Drummer
Etc as long as it's 4 members. This will be a tough call as there are great People in this category, like:
Lead singer - Freddie mercury
Lead guitar - j. page/Dave Gilmour
Drums. - John Bonham
Bass/piano/any other - Ray Manzarek |

Not very good at counting, are you?
If you're having five, i'll settle for either of :
The Band, or
Travellin Wilbury's |

Sammy Hagar or Chris Farlow on vocals
Cozy Powell on drums
Phil Lynott on bass and backing vocals
Francis Rossi and his mate Rick Parfitt
They'd rock the joint and have a great time doing it
Every one of them born entertainers |

Oh, well excuse me for not counting, I was CRAP at maths, but hey I'll not loose sleep on it.
Look at:
The Beatles
The who
The doors
Abba ("them")
Pink floyd
Led Zep
Queen
Some of the GREATEST 4 membered
bands we know.
I was only using 4 members as a "norm" based on the above. |

Great post. Very hard to pick.
Angus Young - Lead Guitar
Phil Lynott- Bass and backing vocal (previously nominated)
Axl Rose. - lead vocals
Rick Allen - Drums
And if we can have 5
Steve Winwood - Keyboard
This choice could change in a heartbeat as I think of other great musicians and 'showmen' |

Vocals Lennon
Guitar Scotty Moore
Bass john paul jones

"The Doors are well represented!
I fucking love the doors man."
Being truthful, I enjoyed your other post on lead singers, thought I'd take a spin on it, just taking a "norm" of 4 members as a band.
I know I mentioned abba, but only Bjorn & Benny played interments that I know. |

There we go.
Another mix. One is a blast from the 80s past.
Mark King - Bass
Will Champion - Drums
Ricky Edwards - Guitar
Kelly Jones - Vocals/Guitar
Bit different but all very good in their own way (my opinion anyway) |

Also.. Floyd and Zep around the
200,000M record sales each.

Anyone ever heard the Lp Oddesy and Oracle by the Zombies? It was their last album and one of the real forgotten gems of the 60s psych period. The song Time of the Season is the last track. Every song is an absolute beauty |

Wasn't Colin Bluntstone a Zombie?
Was never into psychodelic rock, apart from a bit of Jimi |

not sure about members off the top of my head but musically its very much on the mellow, dreamy, piano led side of psych. If you wanna go hardcore trippy psych try a band called july. One album, verging on the shambolic in places and a bonafide classic picture of underground British psych post sgt peppers |

He'll be terribly surprised to hear that he's dead, given that he started a UK tour with The Zombies yesterday
Though given the name of his band, it would be ironic! |

Lead guitar 1: Gary Moore
Lead guitar 2: Scott Gotham
Drums: Brian Downey
Predictable, eh!!
"
Gary Moore was a brilliant guitarist but I always preferred Lizzy when Brian Robertson was playing guitar. |

Although I said John Bonham as my drummer, I was torn between:
Keith Moon
Nick mason (pink floyd)
Buddy Rich
Roger Taylor (queen)
Phil Collins
Etc. Some great legends out there |

Herbie Hancock - Piano/Keyboards
Wayne Shorter - Saxophone
Omar Hakim - Drums
Stanley Clarke - Bass
Who needs a guitarist or a singer?
Saw that band at a jazz festival a few years ago, so not really a wishlist! |

I had seen a list about 5 years ago with they figures.
But I'm sure Zep and Floyd around the 200million.
Infact one person I know who's an ABBA fam keeps banging on that they've sold 350mil.
But I'll try to google it |

You put 200,000M, which is considerably more than 200 million

I would go for Floyd or Zep, problem with making a fantasy band is it's the joint chemistry that lifts the skilled to the heights of greatness. |

Ok, maybe I didn't realise about a "5th" member.
I can imagine a lot of bands had a "5th" member for keyboards etc when touring.
Ok I'm nit going to get into an argument about it.
I've seen DVD of the likes of abba, who also take a drummer, guitarists etc, but there in the background. |

The Who never toured with extra band members until after Moon died, all the keyboards were done via primitive sequencers, which is why Moon used to gaffer tape headphones to his head |

ABBA had to tour with extra band members, they'd have sounded a bit shit with a guitarist, a piano player and two girl singers! |
