"Been listening to the Doors a lot lately and have decided Jim Morrison must be the all time greatest frontman. Anyone beg to differ? "
Fucked up, I'm at work and soon as I read this my boss put the end on in the workshop, I was going to say Jim too, him or jagger but Jim's more charismatic I think, wonder what the ladies think? X |

Running from one side of the stage to the other in cycling shorts after showing up 3hrs late doesnt really qualify as a great frontman to me. Plus axl is a whiny bitch! Morrison could hold an audience just by standing there. Pure magnetism. |

Another vote for Freddie, if there's a band I wished I had seen live it would have been Queen. Although the Stones were good at Glastonbury last year, whether it was the band and the atmosphere combined, I'm not sure, I was a bit wasted at the time |

Axl Rose early on was excellent.
Kelly Jones from stereophonics is exceptionally charismatic on stage.
Pete Doherty while in The Libertines just captivated everyone.
Gwen Stephani was excellent, even if the songs weren't!
But for me, the greatest frontman/woman ever is split between Kurt Cobain and Robert Plant in joint first |

I once witnessed doherty off his tits on stage, he turns round catches an apple thrown by a fan takes a bite and throws it back without even breaking his stride. That, my friends, is rock and fucking roll!! |

I love him too but if he'd sat on my face and farted as he did with his brother I wouldn't have been so enamored |

Ian Dury wasn't a bad frontman considering he was crippled!! |

Yup, the charisma was there in bucketfuls."
Actually Jagger was one hell of a front man too really, just didn't have the pipes that Freddie had. |

"Has everyone forgotten about the charismatic Gary Barlow.
Gary Barlow, good song-writer etc, but not up there.
To me he's part of a successful "90's boy band", no offence."
Oh and also Jim Morrison/The Doors in my "top 10" best bands. |

Back in 1973 I just left school and was at Tech College in Dudley and all my mates were talking about this new band called Queen.
Saw them on Whistle Test doing Seven Seas Of Rhye and Freddy hypnotised the audience like that snake off Jungle Book.
Around the same time the Who had just finished Quadraphenia and Daltrey had "I'm Free" as a solo single the same time as the Who had "5.15" in the charts.
The Who played "5.15" live on Top Of The Pops and it was a life defining moment for me.
Daltrey demonstrated awesome stage presence and power. He was swinging the mic chord like a goodun and it's an image I always recall when ever I play that track.
So for me, it's Daltrey, Plant and Freddy |
