...Up on the Downs

Well, I am stuck here waiting for the electrician to arrive getting increasingly wound up about people messaging on a phone using one liners and rarely getting above one short sentence at the most, if you're lucky!

I cannot hold a proper conversation and get to know someone like that, I mourn the days of people sat in front of a keyboard and writing several paras at a time in coherant English!!!!

Grrrr!!!

Don't want to - I don't like phone calls until I have chatted a little online first and decided I want to speak to them! Hard to reach that place in one liners......maybe moreso for some people than others.

Sadly it seems to be in this day and age that a lot of people do indeed not put a lot of effort into conversation. However with the digital age that it is appears to be easier to text speak and all that jazz, can't say that I really understand it all but think that perhaps I am intelligent enough to get the gist of what they are saying. I don't think that you can beat having a great conversation with people or person, not necesserally about sex but perhaps all interesting topics that are out there.

Although I can't think of a better evening, cooking a lovely meal and sat eating with a beautiful girl devouring a few glasses of wine. Then sharing interesting conversation and finally having showed her how special she is making long slow passionate love to her. hmmm my idea of a perfect evening. Sadly the only thing missing is all of the above, although I do enjoy cooking, just need that special girl now to spoil.

Are several paras a platoon and sorry this is just a one line sentence?

if he is not capable of speech - I wouldnt let him fuck about with your electrics.

Find someone else - it'll only cost you more money (especially as he doesn't seem that timely)

Haha, thanks, but the two were not related, I was not talking to the electrician!

"Well, I am stuck here waiting for the electrician to arrive..."

Is that a euphemism, or a posh way of saying he hasn't splooged yet?

Surely a one liner is an acceptable first message introduction? Would it not be weird if someone you'd never met sent a massive long message with their life story as a first hello?

Also tbh, from reading the forums and talking to folk on here, rightly I add, but being full of single blokes, girls, of which there are many types, have the pick of the place and delete messages at a stroke and rarely reply with a lot more than one line, if at all.

So why put more effort in than just a quick hello, if in all likelyhood it will be deleted anyway?

Just an observation, not an inflammatory post.

No, I was being totally literal - whilst waiting for one fully qualified British Gas electrician (huh?lol) I got all riled about people who don't seem to understand that short one liners do not a conversation make! I blame the phones, there's no proper keyboard involved anymore.......

One line intros are fine by me - but more depth is required before I will meet for a coffee!!
