and if so, where?
have they already started as the guy on the news said the figure skating was today, but cant see any programs dedicated to it.
have i missed something? |

Coverage is on the red button I believe. The Olympics always start a couple of days before the opening ceremony to get through all of the heats. Coverage proper starts this weekend, I believe.

It started at 6am this morning on the red button; it was Snowboarding Slopestyle qualifying , - bloody good too!! Also there's moguls freestyle skiing qualifying in 10 mins time, also on the red button - if that helps? |

Don't. It's justified as the coverage isn't going to be broadcast full time, which is a shame. BBC2 from Friday. I like watching the winter sports, especially the sweeping the ice.

I want my tv license worth when it comes to the games not just the top seeds and Great Britain athletes.The games is about all the countries competing and some of the best moments are from the lower ranks with the likes of the Eddie the eagles,the Jamaican bob sled team etc I despise paying for a tv license like most and will never pay extra for Sky or Espn etc |

a lot of this is fluff for me... i tend to join in with the winter olympics when the mens ice hockey starts..... although did watch the long track speed skating and cross country skiing yesterday...
not really a fan some of the "X games" events...
i always for the summer games, choose one event I don't know, and stick with it... last two times its been the handball, and the water polo
I have decided to go with the men freestyle aerials... I'll report back! lol |

I didn't understand the skiing down bumpy snow and jumping thing but I did enjoy the snowboarding more than I thought I would.
I cheered at the American male figure skater, even though he fell over, as it was just such a lively dance on ice.

I havent watched Dancing On Ice since Todd carty went flying off set - I dont even like Ice Dancing. I was the same for most of these sports and yet Ive watched it every night, great coverage, well done BBC. I just sit here gobsmacked asking myself 'How is that even possible to do'?
Credit due to the athletes mentioned above, hopefully inspired millions more like me to take an interest in their sports. I love sport and appriciate things that I can't do. |

Once had an old ski instructor in Canada who was great, but when my 6 year old at the time said that he wanted to try snow boarding he replied "why would you want to be a one-planker wanker?". When I asked if he knew what a wanker was he had no idea claiming it wasn't a phrase used by older French Canadians, he'd only heard the younger guys say it. Once I'd gotten over the shock it did make me laugh. |
