This seems a spin-off from a similar post on forum called "what car did you pass your test in".

Anyway, a good idea for a post.

My car list:

Fiat panda (my mum's car/passed test in)

Fiat cinquecento - first car I owned

Citreon saxo

Renault Clio - current car/owed for 8/9yrs

The Scoob was rather expensive to insure, yes. It was also expensive to run, service and generally own!

Bloody good fun though.

The jump from a car with roughly 70bhp and a 0-60 of about a week to 250bhp and a 0-60 of 4.5s was entertaining.

I'll point out though that I was 28 when I bought the Corsa. I'd lived in London until then and a car just wasn't necessary. I was 30 when I bought the Scoob. That helped a bit with the insurance.

Costa Blanca Spain...

Started as a trainee selling used cars when I was 17. Worked at various main dealers for many years selling VW/Audi, Ford, Vauxhall, & Lotus. Then took on my own place selling used cars for over 12 years.

My list literally runs into thousands.

Mercedes C class diesel estate at the moment.

I think they all had six wheels. Although the brakes would drop out of the Morris Minor without much warning and it required double declutching.

I'm only on my second personally owned car, which is an owd Vauxhall Astra. First car was a VW Polo, but the 2dr Saloon shape...didn't see many of them on the roads at the time and even fewer since. Between them I've got about 5yrs of Audi's and 1yr of Honda's which would get chopped and changed almost as much as my undies because of working in the dealership so haven't a clue how many cars I've 'had'

Interesting,

My first car was a Triumph spitfire 1500 - and still have it some 20 years later! It is still in good nick with approx 75'000 miles on the clock. Is currently in bits having been subjected to a ground up restoration - simply to keep up with modern driving. Hopefully back on road before year is out.

In the mean time, did a

Ford metro,

Ford escort 1.4

Citeron of some discription

Vauxhall caviliar &

A hyundia coupe 2 ltr SE - which I have had practically rebuilt twice following smashes that my ex had from when it was new!

I tend to enjoy the motors that I have - not forgetting a Ford LWB Van that I have (2nd one) or the two motorbikes I've had in the past.

So for those who have kept up, have two cars and a van

I love threads like this you can read through grin ear to ear look at the list then look at the profile age then snigger again if you historically know what insurance premiums were for general age groups. I then go and try and flush a space hopper down the toilet as I am in the anything is believable mind set.

Do you know the historical insurance premiums for countries outside the one you lived in?

Ok here's a test. MGB softtop 1965 model, its 1986, 19 year old female driver, been driving for 1 year, is the second driver on her Dad's insurance, he's 42 with a no claims bonus. Car is insured for third party, fire and theft. How much was the premium?

funny old game seen as tho the civic is a hell of a lot faster too

My policy when I had the rs2000,, 147, st24, fiesta zetec, Pajero, xr3 cabby with series 1 look ss standard and the wrx was 580quid on an enthusiasts policy. It went up when I got the type r, then they stopped insuring the cars like the Scoobys. So the type r I had to insure seperate. It was 280 quid. Not bad for a 2dr Scooby.

I enquired recently and can have the Clio, spider and a small car for my daughter for around 720quid..

I couldn't have insured my cars seperate and the policy worked on the grounds of I could only drive one at a time x
