Wow! Even the MD of the IMF says that the biggest challenge to economic stability over the next 30 years is the growing divide between rich and poor.
Does this mean that we can expect a government U turn and a return to 50% income tax and a halt to 200% for the highest earners? |

More than likely but the evening out of society isn't ever going to be that everyone has the same amount regardless of what they do. Even if it did it is human nature to add in some hierarchy in other ways.
Why should it be that everyone should get to £26k and no more?

Undoubtedly.
But considering that the average worldpay is $75 a day while half the world survive on $2 a day you have to concede that no matter how much she earns she has a valid point. |

I don't believe i suggest anywhere that they do. But remuneration in the £100'000s is questionable, especially at such as the BBC in light of the recent IT debacle.
It's interesting that she says this as her role and indeed appointment is due entirely to those she lectures about.

I am merely raising the question of the average (for this country) of being £26k as posts on this forum often end up with people posting later about everyone else is overpaid.
I avoided posting about Antony Jenkins yesterday. He's done a "good" thing refusing his bonus for the second year running. However, I question that a contractual bonus of 250% isn't a bonus it's a bloody jackpot. |

Indeed it is, one has to sit up and take notice when the person employed by the establishment to ensure economic stability and thus the security of the status quo is warning that the biggest threat to stability and their security is their avarice. |
