Is there anything you do which you would consider as being obsessive compulsive ?

There's loads of things I do like

Checking the door is locked about 20 times

All the contents of my cupboards are arranged labels facing forwards

Shoes must be together, left shoe on the left, right on the right

Coat hangers all facing the same way with clothing all facing right.

The car has to be reversed onto my drive

I'm thinking I'm just plain crazy xx

do you do these things as a habit or are you compelled to do them because you think bad things will happen if you dont?

Brighton - even Hove!

Not really, I'm quite relaxed about stuff but am tidy at home and organized at work but not excessively so.

"do you do these things as a habit or are you compelled to do them because you think bad things will happen if you dont?"

I don't think of it like that,it's just the way things have to be in my mind.

It's pretty much things I have control over because when my son comes to stay he causes havoc as any 8 year old does and that doesn't bother me. The minute he leaves tho the house is back to my 'order' within minutes xx

I like everything symmetrical and the right way round. Which is front facing of course. My wardrobe is in order of colour and within each colour it is further ordered into length of sleeve and so on. I also have a finger tapping ritual and I pull my hair out.

Feel free to block me

I check things when leaving the house, even if,in the back of my mind,i know its all turned off, locked etc...

Check for my bus ticket multiple times whilst wakling round town..

Can be ocd of cleaning occassionally..but can be the opposite.....

for the majority of people who claim o have OCD i would agree with you but there are some where it controls their lives. they perform their 'rituals' for fear of a family member dyng for instance or thy are confined to their house cleaning non stop because germs will kill them.

liking things neat and tidy is not OCD

Yep agree entirely. It's not Problematic OCD until it causes damage to yourself or others, or stops you leading a normal life

So if you wash your hands three times after having a poo it's not a problem. But if you wash your hands three hundred times a day and the skin is falling off, then it becomes OCD that needs medical intervention

Most humans like habit. We find it comforting

No honestly unless you have it you can't comprehend it. I know nothing bad will happen if I don't put things away in my cupboard correctly but there is is just something in my head says that's not right and you must change it NOW!!! The longer you don't change it the more it plays on your mind and drives you mad. It's completely irrational because like I said I have to have things the same way in the wardrobe etc otherwise I can't rest and am on edge thinking about it and I can't leave for work on a morning if I think I've put something away that doesn't belong there xx

Most insurance companies won't pay out if you leave a door unlocked...

Don't forget to throw a brick through a window before you call the police

This sounds like me. I don't think anything horrible will happen if I don't do these odd things. It just drives me insane if I don't. I don't think I have a problem. I am quite happy.

Central

It is not something Ive gotten the urge driving any behaviour that is obsessive. Im relaxed and if the doors shut, etc, then Im chilled. If I had anxiety issues, then Id deal with that at cause, rather than the obsessive behaviour symptom.
