Yes I know it's not Thursday but I have to vent.
I've been on here long enough to know people don't read your profile. It doesn't usually get to me, but over the past few days I've had more unsolicited friend requests, messages asking for a meet with cock pics attached and basically everything my profiles says not too then ever before. I can't, reply, block & delete quick enough some days.
My profile is very clear I'm not meeting new people or even looking to chat to new people. Yes I know I could block everyone from contacting me, but that also prevents people responding to forum posts I make so I really don't want to do that.
Also when I say no thanks I'm called a timewaster and told I shouldn't be on here. Yeah whatever!!
Sorry about this I just needed to get it off my chest, I'm not in here that much these days as real life is busy, but I'd just like to come on, keep up with people I know & read the forum in peace.

Too polite for my own good and even if they haven't read my profile, I read theirs and reply politely. It's how I choose to use the site and I'm usually happy with it.
Think it must be that time of the month, you know when everyone gets on your last nerve.

I've been experiencing very similar problems too. Got totally wound up on Saturday so went away for a time out til I calmed down! Two many guys seem to think I am here to shag at the drop of a hat. lol |

It's easy, no need for filters at all! Just delete everything off your 'looking for' list and you won't show up on searches. People on the forum might still mail.
I have no problems at all with unwanted mail. I get one now and then but that's fine. Chilled.   |

It is annoying people can't be bothered to read your profile but I guess its just something you have to put up with on here. There are times it gets to me and I scream "read my bloody profile" at the screen but they won't hear me lol. When I was meeting I particularly liked the messages from people who were the total opposite of what I was looking for saying "I've read your profile.......... blah blah blah" clearly you haven't! You have to laugh or you'll go mad!! |

Actually I was off doing this, hiding all my pics and stripping my profile down. As I said it doesn't usually get to me, but just over the weekend it's slightly wound me up. |

I'm far from hot under the collar, I'm just slightly annoyed. I know it's just a message on a website and as I've said normally it really doesn't bother me, but for some reason it's annoyed me this weekend that people just can't be bothered to read your profile.
I felt the need to express my slight frustration on a forum, strangely enough I'm allowed to do that.
Anyway, I've taken some advice, replied to some saying why I choose not to take it some of the other advice and as I'm not on here that much I'm already less bothered by it because I shared my frustrations.

exactly. I get where you're coming from Miss Minxy. When my profile consisted of two sentences basically I'm not meeting and Dont send invites I had more messages and friends requests than normal  It's really annoying when people don't read! |

I don't see what's so annoying, just like people say delete, delete, delete. It's not a case of manners if someone hasn't taken the time to consider what you've written, and if you just delete you'll never see the insults either. It's all very simple really. And even if you did read them why he bothered, it's the Internet, they don't know you and you don't know them. |

At this moment there are 145 unopened messages in our inbox, most of which will be deleted without being opened because the law of averages tell us that most of them won't be what we are looking for. 1 message or 100 - makes no odds to us - 1 click of a button and they're gone without any need to rant ...

And that's how you choose to use the site, I choose to use it differently and I don't use the mass delete option and I like to reply to every message I'm sent.
I don't want anyone to agree with what I'm doing, I just needed to vent slight frustration I was feeling. I thank everyone for their advice, some I've taken, some I won't as it doesn't fit in with how I want to use the site.
Advice is given time and again that you need to put info in your profile, yet it felt this weekend that no-one was bothering to read it or thought it didn't apply to them....hence the slight frustration.
I'm over the frustration now, but it doesn't mean I'll never be frustrated at this site again and when I am, I may just post about it!

I'm constantly told (after a polite "no thanks" or deleting) That I'm a fake (which makes all those who have verified me fake, no?), a timewaster, a fat mess, a slag (although clearly not enough of a slag to meet the friendly chap messaging me), and so on.... I usually send some sort of witty reply, swiftly followed by the block button
I honestly don't give a shit what some stranger thinks of me, if they'd bothered to read/pay attention to my profile, 90% of the time, they'd know my response before sending their message. They're wasting their time, not mine...

I did an experiment a while ago. I had just 3 dots as my profile text, only my shoe pic, and put everything back on my 'looking for' list so I showed up on all the searches.
I got tons of mail, some saying what a cool profile I had. Some people will mail a shoe with no profile. It made me giggle.

I sometimes feel like a right undesirable reading some of these rants.....I'll happily ignore hundreds of messages....but never get anywhere near that....what's wrong with me??....maybe I'll start a thread about it..... |

I reply saying no thank you, I wait a short time after the no thanks message is read, then I block, some people reply, some don't, all get blocked.
