Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

"Could it be a picture in my mind?

Never sure exactly what I'll find

Only in my dreams I turn you on

Here for just a moment then you're gone

It's just an illusion, illusion, illusion"

Actually, not the song but...

Do your form an idea about someone from their pictures? Are you surprised when you meet them?

I had many comments yesterday that I look taller in my photos. Now, I know some of them were referencing just how short I am but a couple of people said it seriously.

Combine Lickety and Chopsy and you've got two "normal" height women

I'm seldom surprised when I meet folk from their pics, dunno if that's cos I'm a good judge, open minded, not very imaginative or just plain fick...

Would we both be size 10?

It's supposed to be about what you think of others/what they think of you. Nicely, of course.

I find a person's personality doesn't show in type. Mannerisms add to your perception of a person, even a voice call can't convey how a person will act in reality. I never expect anyone to look like their photos as most people don't

I think my photos make me look smaller, however have been told several times that I look the same, been told my arse is bigger by one brave sole

I don't think I've ever been too shocked when having met anyone though

My experience so far has always been positive, e.g. people look better than I pictured in my head.

I think is due to most pics being selfies, which is generally not the most flattering angle (few exceptions).

Again, not something that springs to mind from looking at your pictures. Some do give that impression but not yours.

I don't usually have preconceived ideas about how people will look. Besides, I can't remember anyway!!! lol

I'm often told my photos don't do me justice and I look better in person. I hope that's true. I'm certainly not very photogenic.

Hmmm, not sure as I've never asked and they've never really said.

I personally don't think I look like my photos and am a lot scruffier and possibly a bit younger in real life.

You are younger than 31 or look younger than 31? It's good that you made the effort not to be scruffy in your picture but you need to keep that up for a meet too.

I have had comments made to me. That I look better offline and a much better person as more of my personality comes across.

Was conned once about someone's personality, but I let stupidity cloud my judgement. Won't let that happen again. Will go with my first instinct in future.

I look younger (sorry, edited the sentence poorly).

I say scruffy because I generally only shave once a weak and I don't really bother styling my hair.

Yes I do form an idea of what I think someone looks like. I am not that good especailly going on the dare you share face pics threads.

Personality wise I am a pretty good judge and haven't been far wrong when we have met people in the flesh.

In all honesty I am very rarely surprised when I meet people... not that I always let them know we have met.

Give it a week or two after a social and the photos start being passed around... and you get to hear who was having a strop, who was aloof, who looked like their granny and so on.

Add this to the way in which people post... you can soon get an idea of who is going to be just how you expected them to be and who is going to be just how you've worked out you should expect them to be; unfortunately there tend to be more of the later than the former.

The only person who ever really surprised me was the Goliath wielding Missy with her innocent face photo. But I expect her to be as I expect in person.

Forgot to add we have had mixed comments....

Never been told we don't look like our pics by those that have met us. Personally I think I look better in pics than in real life.

Have been told alot that we are nicer and more down to earth than they thought we would be. Which does make me wonder how we come across in text at times....
