Lesta init bad man sound as f*** lol

meaning; I'm from Leicester, isn't it great how we talk? good lads around here mostly, take care lol

Well I've lived all over but i'm a born and raised Brit, I think.... Since Scousers don't sound like me when they talk they are just as 'english' as me, just like a scotsman is just as british as me, I tend to feel that all the history and violence is in the past.... & we are all Brits now (Does england even have it's own identity anymore?) Meaning i could undeerstand if an irishman or scots was to disagree... But England? WHERE??? lol

Sound. (Please don't take offence)

English!

Born in England.

But not allowed to say so on all the forms you fill in - only allowed to be British, Irish, Scottish or Welsh.

If the truth be known; I am part Irish, part Welsh, of French ancestry but mainly English. I consider myself English and I always state English on any official form that asks my nationality - even though I'm supposed to say British, I say English, as that's what I am.

the problem the english have with their identity is you can only be english if your white. now before every one goes mental, think about it, you can be black british, but not black english, same with asian, and how many people with a chinese backgroud do you ever hear being called english they could be 3rd generation born here but they still dont seem to qualify. just look at the wording on a equal oppurtunities form, dont see english asian on them do you.in a multi cultural society this is an big underlying problem that needs sorting for the good of the whole population

will expect a torrent of abuse

I've never seen the term Welsh Asian or Scottish Asian either. Your argument is flawed.

Can also see where your coming from... But this country like no other on the planet goes further to make any person from any nationality feel welcome secure and still allows them to keep a more personal national identity.. and indeed encourage them to seek and hold it close..

Personaly.. I think England does enough.

But the thread is about what you call yourself.. English Or British yeah. I'm English.. not Racist, simple as lol.. Happily fondle any colour creed or race if pretty enough and attactive to me lol...

your response is flawed . as usual. colin jackson is simple refered to as welsh as is shirley bassey and nigel walker they are never referred as "black welsh". wales has its on set of divisive problems with the language, you either speak welsh or you dont. welsh speakers do, whether they admit it or not, look down on non welsh speakers. Scotland i cant comment on as i've never lived there.

English is, whether the great and good like it or not, considered to be a white race.when liford christie won he was british, never english, but when he lost he was jamaican born.

You are talking so far out of your own arse it makes me wonder if you have a permanent tan.

Linford Christie considers HIMSELF to be British because he knows he is of Jamaican descent and is proud of his heritage; if you had ever seen him being interviewed then you would know that.

I have many non-white English friends who wear the shirt and shout just as loud as I do when England play. You are trying to push forth a stereotype of ALL English people as being unnaccepting of non-white English people and that simply isn't true. (I refer you to your opening line of: "the problem the english have with their identity" - which seems to encapsulate the entire English nation)

glad you recognise talking out your arse as your good at that too.

im not saying all english people are racist because thats not true, but the society we live in is built on racism, this is a racist society. there is a larger majority then people think who consider that you can not be english unless your white, you and i might not think like that but there are plenty of people who do. until that and many other factors change this society will remain racist.

In my opinion English people are some on the most discriminated against people and it happens under so called European anti-discriminatory and human rights laws .We can not acknowledge our national identity on any official document,we have been denied our own parliament. Our last 2 prime ministers are Scottish born but we can not even allowed to serve in the Scottish parliament never mind become a minister.

I refuse to hang my head and hide because the English flag "Was" highjacked by racists in the 80s.I also refuse to keep paying for the sins of my forfathers whatever they were as for every "sin" i see a benefit.

I acknowledge the strong history of the Welsh ,Scottish ,and Irish and there rights to National and cultural identity ,all we ask is for the same right to do so as an English person.

English (not racist) English and proud.

I used the reference to football as just ONE way in which people express their nationality and patriotism. You'll find that patriotic fervour is more prevalent in sport than any other area of life. An intelligent person would know this, clearly, you do not.

Tell me how is the society we live in based on racism when it is this "Society" that abolished slavery and outlawed Racism, that has fully integrated a multicultural population, that is one of the most sweeping statements i have heard yet.

Witness the forthcoming fury that will happen now the Gurkhas have been kicked in the teeth by this administration .

I wouldn't hold out any hope of a reasoned answer from this ignoramus. He has made 'sweeping statements' into a cottage industry.
