In one of today's papers, there is a story about Himmlers letters to his wife and daughter.
These family letters are being sold by their ownet in Israel. The letters were stolen by an American soldier when the Himmlers house was ransacked at the end of the war.
Ms Himmler is claiming that the letters were private communications between her and her father and that she wants them back as they are her private property...
Are they hers or the current owners? I do not sympathise with her as she is still a Nazi supporter. However I do suspect that if a German was selling personal property stolen during the war there would be a massive outcry...
So finally the big question... Should she have the same level of protection from the law as other victims??? |

She was his daughter, so not really her fault who her parents were. She is still a Nazi supporter so obviously didn't learn anything.
I totally agree that anything stolen by the Germans should be returned. However most laws apply to both sides. So shouldn't anything stolen from Germany be returned? |

Yes.
Morality is morality.
You cannot apply your beliefs to one person and disapply them to another lest you make a mockery of yourself.
Give her back what is hers.
A nations leaders doing wrong does not excuse modern day forumites who weren't there in any case of legitimising their own wrong thoughts. |
