I quit smoking on Monday and it's been going really well. . . . Until I have had a couple of drinks tonight. Now I'm finding it really tough!!
Has anyone got any good advice or coping mechanisms to share?? |

Lol. Yeah I do have a meet request up. But as is the typical weekend pattern, because I prefer all night meets ( drinks and good convo), the amount of married and attached men soon becomes apparent as no fucker can get out for the night lol x |

"Bend some paperclips. The urge should die down in a couple of mins anyway.
Well done by the way. I'm cheating - I have an e-cig."
I have an ecig. And until now I have rarely used it to be honest. And don't want to rely on it. And anyhow, it's no more cheating than any NOT. Still 100 times better than lighting up, so we'll done x |

Yes
Stop doing all the things that would normally make you want a fag. So if drinking makes you want one then don't drink. I know some things you can't stop so just get some gum or something. X

Find a substitute. When you do this it replaces the habit with that one. It's routine. So if you have a mint for every time you have one. In time you will be eating mints and not knowing why, but it does help. Also wherever there is smoke, walk away from it so you don't get the smell on your clothes or anywhere near you. So you wouldn't be tempted then. Good luck though |

"To be fair im not prepared not to be able to have a drink. It's smoking I want to quit, not having a few drinks on a weekend .
I'm sure 3 weeks without having a drink wouldn't kill u..I gave up 4 years ago and drink was my downfall at the start then I had no drink for a month and it done the trick..don't associate drinking with having a smoke now at all after 4 years..will be well worth it "
Yeah but the point is I can't stop doing what I enjoy or that makes me want a cig. If I did, waking up, eating and sex would all be off the 'to do' list as well, they all make me want to smoke too lol x |

They say the first 28 days are the hardest and after that it gets easier. Also beating the temptation while you know it's at its strongest helps you out too. Beat that a few times and you won't feel the need to have one has much |

I know what you mean. It's hard enough giving up the fags without giving up some nice wine too. But don't replace smoking with food. I did when I gave up first time and put on tons of weight! |

No so fat I have been pretty lucky, my appetite hasn't changed and I'm not eating thru any cravings. Because up until now u haven't really had any. Think I might 'cheat' and put a patch on for the night to help x |
