OK, so i started my NHS Obesity clinic thing last evening (not proud, but attempting to sort my life) and we had to do a walk test/bleep test and some circuit training.. personally i was proud at my achievements and the results of those (considering my size/ability) I was sweating, had an accelerated heart rate etc..
This morning not one ache or pain. I was half expecting to be in agony with how hard i felt i worked. Feel a tad disappointed as thought the saying 'no pain no gain' is generally kinda true
Meh |

OK, sensible answer! I felt a little annoyed when I first started swimming that I wasn't aching and stuff. But I'm feeling a difference (although no one has said I look any bloody slimmer!)
Kudos for going though. I know how I felt the first time I went swimming. |

"You obviously weren't trying hard enough, go back and do it all again...TWICE!
meanie *pokes tongue out*
"
In all fairness it may take a few sessions before you really start to feel it, but if you're really putting effort in then you will.
Good on you for taking positive steps and stick with it... |

Im fortunate in a way ive a friend who is also on the same program as me, we went to Slimming World and Weight Watchers together.. and we are planning walks/swimming together. Hopefully we can spurr each other on and get some results this time.
Started this with an open mind and crossing my fingers it helps. Everything to live for

Absolutely. I decided not to go down the Slimming World etc route first and to try on my own (I'm hoping regular sex might help too as well as swimming a few times a week)

Thanks Granny, Mr Who and Ruby..
In a way i think its easy for me to feel motivated by this course because its all people in a similar boat to myself with being obese. We are all there to loose weight and its nice to be at a similar ability to each other.
Confidence wise im better than i was, but in a gym sense getting all sweaty infront of others who go just to tone would be my worst nightmare.. i feel comfortable with those with similar bodies to me. We all laugh n joke (even though its all taken seriously) |

Doing it for yourself means you're much more likely to succeed! Good on you I say!
I'm attempting to shift a fair bit of weight this year, and tone up A LOT! If you need any support, or a moan about cravings or cramps, you know where I am |

The key is to get your heart rate up, and get sweaty
Hang on, we are talking about the gym aren't we ?
But seriously, you've got to burn to lose weight

Well done
I've started exercising this week and can feel it, lucky you that you can't. Although I actually think it's spurring me on feeling the aches as I know it's working |

We'll done cute.
Is the obesity clinic a nationwide thing? Never been offered anything like that here but I'm really into my running at the moment and have been invited to some private circuit training by a lady I made friends with at my parkrun
I really do believe that to be successful at this you have to wait until you are truly ready. You can start time and time again but if your headis not in the rright place it won't work. It has to click and it sounds like it has with you!
Keep it up x |

not sure if its a nationwide thing, i hope it is as can see it being really good for over weight people. Its a 6 month weight management program, meeting every 2 weeks. 1 hour of fitness and 1 hour of education. There will be talks from Doctors, Dietitians, and Psychologists along the way. There is a lot of talk about bariatric surgery if people decide to go down that route, but not everyone wants too |

Hi again Cutie...
Just a little advice, listen to the psychologists (everything is a mind game and they are the ones who know all the tricks) and if at all possible avoid the surgery (it is dangerous)!
And dont walk up stairs, run! Its short sharp and really gets the body working! |
