"What sort of thing do you like ? There are one or two places of interest in London"
Really I just want to see the nice things more famous ones so I can take pictures and stuff... Not into the House of Parliament though... |

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum |
Get a river taxi and go up the Thames. I went from Embankment to Greenwich and got to see the Tower of London, the Globe, and the Golden Hind. And its cheap!
Stroll around Covent Garden and the Strand. If you go to Trafalger Square you have the National Gallery. Or go to the City and visit St Pauls and the Museum of London.
Talking of the Museums (they are all free) I recommend the Natural History Museum, the Science Museum (if you have kids wit you), and the British Museum. Oh, and I haven't been for ages but the London Aquarium is pretty good.
As someone said above, there's one or two things to do there. |

Thanks!
I really like the sound of the river taxi, never been on anything like this so it will be a great experience with amazing sites I would imagine.
I'm not really into museums personally but the aquarium is right up my street, I can watch a fish tank like its a television |

The natural history museum is amazing, the building itself is something to take in, if you fancy going don't wait in the queues at the main entrance, go around to the right hand side and you'll be able to get without queuing.
Camden lock is also really good |

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound |
If you're taking the river taxi or river buses then go to Greenwich and take the cable car across the River to the other side. Not much on the other side but you can go to Stratford from there and see the Olympic Park. Although I prefer to do it the other way around so that you end up at the South Bank and get out to do interesting things there.
The South Bank has a festival on all weekend for men. Have a look and see what they are offering. If you are going to the Aquarium it's all around there.
Have a look at the Londonist on line for things happening.
Bring lots of money - it's expensive here in this old London.

For something a little different but eye opening, how about popping into the Royal Courts of Justice ( beautiful building ) and sitting in on a court case; the vast majority are open to the public.
30 mins should be enough to give you an insight into how things operate.

"When you get hungry go to borough market. Fantastic street food."
Actually, this is a MUST on Saturday. Go and browse, taste all the samples offered and then choose something scrumptious to eat.
I used to use this as a public place to meet people from here as if they turned out to be boring I would still have a great time.

What kind of street food?
Lots of different things. It is worth going."
I meant, is it foreign foods etc????
If so, the next time I'm in London I'll definitely pay it a visit! |

A pub crawl from the Globe to the Golden Hind ending up at borough market for some grub is a perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon. |

Just the pubs by the River or crossing the road to take in the ones set back from the River?

Either really. Keeping to the river is pleasent but there are some nice pubs further afield. The Swan is a particular favourite. They do a gentlemans afternoon tea in there. Fish finger sandwiches. , cheese and Guinness.

The bus tour is a little bit touristy, but takes in all the major sites and you can hop on and hope off wherever you want to explore a bit further. You also get a proper "cockney" tour guide giving a few gems of information. Start early, plan what you want to see and take in a pub at each stop off location, will be a good day |
