"Into someone's house is it acceptable to ask for their wifi password. "
If they have customised the wifi name straight away as usually it means they know.
Bit rude to ask if it's not customised, until you have at least taken your knickers off |

Why would you visit someone socially only to park yourself on the sofa and browse the internet? Whilst you're there take the car out for a spin, check the fridge freezer out because you're peckish... Help yourself to a beer. |

"If they're in our house, they can have the password!
'moonunit' (with appropriate substitutions), if you were wondering!
After Frank's daughter?"
Obviously, the bloody router's called frankzappa! |

Plenty of people have my password, I've done online ordering for family members before so my mum/dad/sister all have my password so they could look up what I was supposed to order. Few of my friends have got it from when they've been round having a beer or whatever and we've got chatting about something on eBay or a crochet pattern online etc so they could show me.
Yeah they could borrow my phone to do it but my internet browsing history and predictive text is a bit questionable!! |

Just How easy is it to change the name and would everyone in the street see the new name if they went to a list of hubs to connect too ?? |

Very easy, and depends on if you broadcast the name or not...
For all hubs you just need to see what address it is on, usually 192.168.0.1 but some are different, will say on the back or in the instructions... or you can find out by looking at your computer.
Put that address in your browser, log in and follow the instructions. default username and password will also be on the hub or in the instructions. bet it's admin and password |
