One day a father and his rich family took his son on a trip to the country with the firm purpose to show him how poor people can be. They spent a day and a night on the farm of a very poor family. When they got back from their trip, the father asked his son, “How was the trip?” “Very good Dad!” “Did you see how poor people can be?” the father asked. “Yeah!” “And what did you learn?”
The son answered, “I saw that we have a dog at home, and they have four. We have a pool that reaches to the middle of the garden; they have a creek that has no end. We have imported lamps in the garden; they have the stars. Our patio reaches to the front yard; they have a whole horizon.” When the little boy was finished, his father was speechless. His son added, “Thanks, Dad, for showing me how ‘poor’ we are!”
Isn’t it true that it all depends on the way you look at things? If you have love, friends, family, health, good humour and a positive attitude towards life — you’ve got everything! You can’t buy any of these things. You may have all the material possessions you can imagine, provisions for the future, etc.; but if you are poor of spirit, you have nothing!

"Sadly not rich enough to buy my dream car... "
If you could afford to buy your dream car, you would no longer have a dream, and that's sad
Oh by the way, if you have a dream, turn it into reality, money is the easiest thing to get, just find out how much you need, set a target date, and go for it! everything is possible with some planning. |

Sometimes you buy your dream car only to discover it gets 8 mpg. |

A bit like my dream house, a cottage in the country, with roses round the door.
no spar shop, no garage for petrol, mice, moths, and cows crying when they take their babies away, all very inconvenient........ |

Life is what makes you rich, you can have piles of money but you have to enjoy it, not just make it.
You can have fuck all cash, but live live to its fullest.
Is it nice to drive to car I want, live in a nice house, go on holidays to exotic place - yes.
But a lot if it is down to what your used to.
As a kid my holidays were B&B on North Wales Coast, and as I got older - wait for it - Bullins at Barry Island!! I never left the UK till I was 16 and I was 27 before I got to Florida, but I was happy with what I had.
My life has changed I'm lucky enough to holiday overseas every year and the bonus is I'm still happy. |

Man sacrifices his health in order to make money.
Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health.
And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present;
the result being that he does not live in the present or the future;
he lives as if he is never going to die,
and then dies having never really lived”
~ Dalai Lama

I’ve met people who’ve no-homeland , no-family , no-community, no access to safe water, no safe place to stay, no food, no shelter , and no ability to effect change in their personal circumstances without outside help…… and yet I see some "rich" people begrudge them help, which to me shows the poorest side of humanity…

I wonder how many of those sleeping on the streets tonight in their Cardboard boxes freezing their arses off and looking up at the stars will be grateful that their Dreams will never become reality, Money is only unimportant if you have it.
Happiness CAN be bought.

I could enjoy the present if I got as much money from America as this 'sweet innocent' buddhist. |

We were on holiday in Jamaica doing a river walk that the guide filmed, after he invited us back to a mud & grass dwelling & started editing the film on a laptop as they had electricity from a single wire coming down the mountain.
John was fascinated that this guy knew as much as him with his editing techniques, the guy told us that he was educated at Cambridge for 7 years before moving back home.
We asked him why he lived in a mud hut when he could be living a totally different life with his education.
He replied i have fresh water i can catch fish & pick fruit & i live in paradise whereas you have to worry about rent, bills & protecting your materialistic possessions & money so who is really rich you or I.
He went on to say i was born with nothing & will die with nothing the same as everyone else...great guy who was one of the happiest people we have ever met. |

Don't be stupid. It just said the words and the monkey wrote them down. |

Old Native American Indian saying:
When all the trees have been cut down,
when all the animals have been hunted,
when all the waters are polluted,
when all the air is unsafe to breathe,
only then will you discover you cannot eat money
Be happy with what you have! |

Like the poor man who carried on living in the flat with his dad's body and didn't tell anyone for months because he was frightened he would get kicked out into the streets then compare that to the couple with his and her's cars that don't have the money to pay their arrears and moan at us when we chase them for it |
