Bournemouth Central sounds like the world's worst cop drama.
Picture the scene, the main Police Station of Bournemouth. Our heroes, Timothy and Tristan are called into the office of their superior. He is a big black man with a temper, looks like he is on the verge of a heart attack. He is shouting into the phone, doing his nut as the crime figures for people rocking the penny falls machines in the arcades are two days late. He slams the phone down. Glares menacing at our heroes and pops out a slimfast bar. He then gives them a dressing down, as the local neighbourhood watch is on his case about kids knocking on the doors of OAPs and running away. MEANWHILE, the entire population turns the telly off and starts digging out their boxsets of Hill Street Blues.

Series gets canned after 2 episodes, but Channel 5 buy the rights and show it on Sunday mornings before they put 4 films in the dvd player, point a camera at the telly and then all go home. |
