Starting a new relationship

By (user no longer on site) OP     over a year ago

Hi all, some of you may have my previous post a few days back. I met a lady online on a dating site recently. We was talking a while and got on great, we met for a date which turned into a 6 hour long date. Then we met up the next day, again for 6 hours ish. She is a little shy bless her, but I prefer like that rather than been loud and cocky. She is intelligent and career driven, just a really nice lady.

Anyway, I asked about how she feels if I was to call her my gf and we make this regular and she agreed!! So we are now bf/gf (so no longer available for meets)

My last proper relationship was a while back and lasted 6 years so not used to this. As sad or soppy as it may sound I am constantly thinking about her! Is that normal?? Or am I weird and over the top :/

The thing though that pops into my mind all the time is, does she feel and like me the same amount back. I'm not sure that is a normal reaction or feeling to have, maybe it's because I've bout out of this for so long??

I think it's quite normal so don't panic! Enjoy your new relationship and take it each day as it comes. I hope it all works out well for you. Like I told you before, I like a happy ending

I have not long broke up with a woman who I thought was my soul mate. She said she no longer loved me & now she's with another guy. I think it's great you have met someone. May I ask, what site did you meet her on? May you have many a great time with her mate.

Thanks guys! :D I don't think I'm allowed to say here the site, but there are plenty of fish in the sea

Yeah I like here, and sex is great etc I just find it more satisfying when you hve the chance to truly know the other body and needs, also it's all well and good but I feel lonely waking up alone and having no one to talk and confide in.

Ive thought about dating a lot recently. Like you too I am fed up waking up alone and would love a really meaningful relationship. Guess what's meant to be is meant to be. Enjoy and make the most of it and I wish you all the best.

She has told one of her friends she met me so far. She said she's going to tell more of her friends when she see's them. I asked her what she was going to tell them about how we met, and she said she'll tell them the truth that we met on a dating site, she says there's no shame in that. I'm a little nervous about telling my friends that, guys can be a bit funny! But they should be ok, it's my Dad I'm most nervous about telling!!! He is quite old fashioned and will probably take the mick for been on a dating site!!

I completely agree, it's nothing to be embarrassed about! Modern life! A lot of people don't get out and meet people nowadays. I know if I have a night out and I'm drinking I don't go near men. People can be so different when they've had a drink

Good luck with your new relationship!

It's quite normal to think about someone a lot when you are infatuated with a new relationship, I still do!! I would just assume she feels the same, be yourself and enjoy it! Good luck!

Yeah as others have said its all very normal in the beginning of a new relationship so please stop over thinking it and enjoy. I'm quite jealous I'm back in the headspace for a relationship but little chance of it happening

Enjoy and have fun x

I've done the same as you from another dating site. He's a wonderful man, great lover and he knows about my past.

I'm happy I took the step. Enjoy the moment and good luck xx

We are also a new relationship, we live 250 miles apart and yes it can still be very lonely but we constantly chat on the phone. Always say good morning and good night. Sometimes love happens in the most mysterious ways. I never ever thought at my age that I would be going through the process of meeting mums and families again and it is still very nerve racking.

We wish you both all the best and as they say one day at a time.....Ruby x

This is kind of how I am feeling too. Maybe I'm weak, but it's nice to have someone in your life.

Perfectly normal my lovely. Phil and I have been together for ages we're engaged etc. And we still don't stop thinking about each other. If we're apart we send over 300 texts a day (thank god for unlimited contracts!).

Xxx

Congratulations and best wishes, everything is perfectly normal from your post, try not to worry too much about how she feels, that will unfold in time if you are still happy together after 6 months then it has a chance of going the distance.

Hope not to see you back here unless it's with a couples profile.
