"to use a vacuum cleaner in a semi-detached property when there's nobody living next door? "

My question is how will you be using the vacuum cleaner at such an unsociable hour

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Use it whenever you like until you have a neighbour.

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

I vacuumed at 10pm last week, but my neighbours are away.

Over the rainbow, under the bridge

I wouldn't worry about it if the property is empty.

Nothing to see here. Please move along.

I was once reported to social services by my elderly neighbour for hoovering at 3pm. He believed it should be done before 10 am. So i had to be neglecting my son. We got our own back by attaching speakers to the wall. Putting a heavy base tape on constant loop. Made sure it couldnt be heard outside and went away for the weekend

He moved very soon after

I'd Hoover no matter what the time....... When I've finished sanding the walls down prior to painting

I think if that Aggie woman from the cleaning programme is knocking on your door with a camera crew in tow, then it's probably too late

as you dont have any immediate neighbours, its only your partner to worry about, give him a beer and earmuffs and away you go.

So you drove someone out of their home? He may have been a bit bonkers but he probably needed things explaining to him rather than having someone set up a thumping base to drive him nuts for a whole weekend.

Was going to say bullying an elderly person out of their home is nothing to be proud of...or is it just me?

"Domestic noise is 11pm.."

No it isn't. Noise is considered noise pollution if it is loud enough or constant enough to cause distress. It doesn't matter what time it occurs.

I don't think your neighbour deserved that. What a horrible thing to do. You should be ashamed.

Central

Glad others thought similarly about the elderly guy. My heart went out for him, perhaps having to leave his beloved home. I dont know the full situation, but Ive dealt with people near suicidal after issues that they cant understand or cope with. Very sad.

I have a semi. There's only one person living next door now and he's up all night so I could hoover at 1am if I wanted. We have pretty thick walls though so you can't hear much
