My job is very boring

Jump to: Newest in thread

By *icketysplits OP   Woman  over a year ago

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I'm an office clerk...

I'm not (although I did enjoy being an office clerk 30 years ago) but the work I have today is terribly tedious.

Is your job boring, do you long to rush off to Echo Beach or do you love it and can't wait to get back to it?

Mine is 50/50. The basic part of my job is admin, filling in reports, fobbing people in and out of the building etc and very boring.

However, when something goes wrong, it tends to go wrong major style. From people being late for curfew and every police force in the UK looking for them, to a prolific OCD collector taking every TV remote in the building and burying them in the garden!!

Takes a huge skill set to do my job!!!

My job is office based, so I sit behind a desk in front of a computer, but it's far from boring! I get to speak to lots of different people and I even spoke to Arthur scargill just after Christmas!

So no I like my job

I never get bored in my job although I get fed up at times. But that's probably just like most people.

My job is varied and I deal with the public now and again plus I get to go out and about sometimes too. I've been here 12 years so can't be bad

I tend to get bored fairly easily. The worst thing I find is repetitiveness, and I don't mean a long task of doing the same thing, I mean finishing something and having to redo it because someone messed up or changed their minds.

I'm a bit unsociable as well, I like having a juicy project and keeping my head down. It actually amazes me that quite a lot of people get paid to sit round all day talking about Eastenders.

I honestly love my job so much that when having the 'if I won the lottery' conversations I genuinely answered that I would carry on working at least 2 days a week (leaving plenty of time then for spa treatments, shopping, personal training sessions, buying my nan her dream granny flat...)

I love my job every day is different and in a different place,I'm pretty luck in that I'm mostly my own boss and as long as everything is done right and on time I never hear from those in charge, BUT there is a down side as there is one type of testing that I do that must be done every year and it's slow tedious and very boring. But on a whole I love my job.

Mine is a new role I took to learn the alternate side of my previous role which was busy, no two days the same etc etc, this one I have just left wasn't organised, not challenging so have left to find something doing what I was before as I did love that, just thought I could broaden my knowledge but didn't work out like that. The redundancy however will help me immensely

But sometimes I get bored of charting to the smaller clients about non important things. Only so many times you can stand the same conversation!
